OH NO!!! Frodo please don't! AACK!! ::giggles::

SB, you've GOT to to this for a living! Goodness I'm COMPLETELY hooked! You know your characters SO well, and your wording, your verbage... I just love this line: Aragorn took a dry cloth and patted Frodo's face, then dabbed at some of the tears that had slid into the boy's ears.

Wow! You actually THOUGHT about that! You know it happens to all of us, but you took the time to point that out.... ::sigh:: I'm in love! LOL :D I can't wait to read more, but now it's time to head home for the day. I'll have to keep hubby off the computer so I can finish this lovely story.

Thanks for writing this.. I love it. :)

I'm so glad I decided to start reading this, SB! h/c at it's finest! lol! ;)

you're keeping my mind busy while i'm waiting for the phones to ring at work. :) you're such a gifted writer. :)

Author Reply: Thank you, Dayna! I had such a wonderful time writing this story (and all its sequels!). It was such a joy to give Frodo and Aragorn an interesting way to meet and learn about one another so early in Frodo's life.

Hope you enjoy the rest of it! Thank you so much for reading.

What a wonderful tale. Thank you so much. I know it would lead to a very different telling of FOTR but I would love an extra chapter telling your version of Frodo and Aragorn meeting at Bree!

Author Reply: Thanks, Harrowcat! And that story's been written! "Quarantined" has two sequels -- "Reflections of the Past", which takes place about a year later, and "By Chance or Purpose", which is the Bree-to-Rivendell story based on the "Quarantined" relationships. Enjoy!

Wow, a caring passage...I like the part where you had that innocence, so on and so forth. I like this story so far. I am pretty much speechless of what to say, but I enjoyed this chapter. I hope to read more of it too.

I have come across your beautiful series quite by accident, and I have had the good fortune to spend my evening lost in it. Your vision is enchanting, filled with love and tenderness. Your presentation and characterization are flawless. You have moved me to tears. Thank you so much for sharing this.

Author Reply: Oh Chani, thank you! What a lovely review, and I'm so very happy you enjoyed this story.

I am very particular about fan-fiction. When the Mithril Awards came out last year, one of my favorites, "The Last Grey Ship" was a winner, and I took the time to read a couple of the other prize winners. One of those was from Mushrooms, by Baylor. I added her site to my list of fan-fic sites.

Last week, in one of her newer stories, she made reference to this story, and now I have another favorite author to read. This was so lovely and cozy. I will now try the authors you referenced and I may never again vacum the living room for sitting at my computer reading!

I am not a writer, but I do love to read. Thank you for sharing your gift.

I'm sat here with my friend and fellow author, squealing over the utter adorability of this story. Literally. (And if 'adorability' isn't a word, it should be, as it applies perfectly to this story). 20 chapters of undeniable AWWWW factor. We're both sat here, melted into a puddle of sappy goo, occasionally emitting high-pitched squeaks. Thank you so much! Namarië!

Author Reply: Wow, thanks! This story evolved waaaay beyond my original idea, but I never dreamed it would melt folks into puddles! (If you want more of this 'universe', the two sequels (so far) are "Reflections of the Past" and "By Chance or Purpose"). Thank you so much for letting me know you enjoyed this story.

this story is the best! i really like the way all of the characters are portrayed, particularly frodo and aragorn. welldine!

Author Reply: Thank you, Elly! I had such a wonderful time writing this story, and now I'm deep into the *second* sequel ("Reflections of the Past"). I've really fallen in love with the sweet Frodo-Aragorn relationship. Glad you liked it!

A promising start! I am always a bit wary of seeing Gandalf as a character, but you write him really well and I liked the small Frodo's reaction to him, particularly about how "tall" he was.

That was a beautiful story -- a welcome glimpse of Frodo as a lad, insights into how dearly Frodo and Bilbo loved one another, and a stronger motivation for Aragorn to work to protect the Shire from the things that stalked the wild...

Author Reply: Thank you, FyrDrakken! I enjoyed writing "Quarantined" very much, and it was such a joy to explore an early Frodo-Aragorn friendship, and Frodo's early life with Bilbo. (If you want more, feel free to check out the sequel, "By Chance or Purpose".) Your kind words are appreciated!
