Oh, an excellent glimpse into the mind of Legolas. :D I enjoyed it very much. Thank you for sharing it.

Author Reply: Thank you, Karri. I appreciate you taking the time to read it and to respond. I love to delve into the hidden corners of what makes someone tick and I find Legolas to be an excellent subject. He's very forthright, but still quite complex. In this instance of trying to understand what the sea longing may have meant to him, I got just a tiny glimpse. He's an interesting character. Thanks, again.

Very nice. I haven't read too many stories that deal with the exact moment Legolas heard the gulls. I liked your take on the event.

Author Reply: Thank you. I really appreciate you reading this and taking the time to review. I enjoyed trying to get inside Legolas's head and then speculating on what he may have experienced when he felt the call. In other words, I was looking for his "light bulb" moment. I'm glad you liked it.

As I told you, I think this interpretation of the sea longing is brilliant. It is as if Legolas has been awakened to something that has been there all along but concealed by his living so far from its lure. I particularly liked the bit where he feels that his tie to Thranduil has changed somehow and worries that something has happened to his father, only to realize that it is he who has changed.

Author Reply: Thank you, Daw. I'm so pleased that you liked it. I know I see this event differently than most people, but it seemed to make sense to me since the Sindar had never seen the light of the trees or Valinor. I think for many who have had an awakening or profound spiritual experience, it is somewhat addicting. The desire for more can be truly overwhelming at times, but it is manageable when there are still things to be done in everyday life. Again, thanks for all your help and for reviewing.
