Oh, Eru! I am sooooooo glad you are back writing! Have missed you.

Halbarad is going to destroy me. I am laughing myself sick. "You, Priss!" Cutting his elven braids. Castigating Aragorn for being in love with "his sister", "lavender soap". Bryn, you will destroy me in the end.

Go for it, Bryn! I shall hide you if they seek you with blood in their canon eyes. Hey, I made Arwen sleep with Rumil. I have no shame. (Pre-Aragorn, people, pre-Aragorn! Please don't kill me again!)

You promise you will not forget the plot coney of the Elves and Science? I have marked my reminder calendar to look for it!

Humble Scribe to his Majesty Thranduil

Author Reply: Orophins Dottir- *lol* Just you wait until Halbarad and E2 meets up. The world as Aragorn knows it will cease to exist. *grin* As far as the "romance" goes, it only goes as far as an embrace, so nothing too extreme. I'm leaving it out for the sake of this tale though. It probably doesn't fit too well. Hey, Tolkien never said Arwen DIDN'T sleep with Rumil before Aragorn came along. So technically... I promise not to forget the Elves and Science plot. It keeps running through my head as it is. Thank you for the fantastic review!!! :)

Well, between Aragorn the woman and "bluuurrrggghhh" I was laughing through this whole chapter. Of course, Aragorn and movie-Arwen would have my head on their swords if they knew I was laughing at Aragorn's expense but oh well.

Author Reply: calenore- Well, Aragorn had to learn how to be elvish and rangerly somewhere... And I'm inclined to agree with Halbarad on the love-sickness. It can't be good for the career of a Ranger. :) Thank you for the review!

Hey, Bryn. Lovely chapter. Halbarad is amazing. I love the haircut...that was great. And I can hardly wait to see what will happen in Riordan. :-) Should we all be frightened? :D

"Women turn men to pudding." Haha. That was a great analogy.

Hm, Gilrean and a son of Elrond? I like that idea. Please, add it, and let me know when you do. (I've included my address.)

Update soon, and don't forget your other story in which you so cruelly left us hanging.

Author Reply: Miriel- In a word, Yes. We should be frightened over what will happen in Riordan. ;) I'd be more than happy to email you a copy of the Gilraen/son of Elrond encounter. It only goes as far as an embrace (keeps the story rating down to a minimum). Thank you for the review! :)

Yay! An update to Cantrip. I already saw your update to Mariuns Stiria on ff.net, and wondered when the promised update to Cantrip would be due. Congratulations to meeting your self-appointed deadline! I tend to fail in these things. And, of course, I am more than relieved to hear that you are feeling better. You already had me worried ... seriously!

But now for the story: I was chuckling from beginning to end (good thing that my significant other is wearing headphones at the moment ...) Of course, Aragorn would chose the elvish way in tracking his prey, while Halbarad seems to favour the obvious ... with similar success.

Then there was Halbarad's lovely, if ... maybe ... somewhat exaggerated imitation of Aragorn ...

Why do I have the distinctive feeling that Aragorn has just made one of the major mistakes in his life in telling Halbarad about his infatuation with Arwen? I doubt that he will hear the end of it any time soon. And I do not dare think about what Aragorn will have to endure once they are granted their leave ... (did I already mention that I am a squeeeeling Aragorn fangirl?)

Anyway, I hope your health improves further, for I would really, really miss you and your wonderful stories,

Author Reply: fliewatuet- ...and I continue to thank you for the email... :) Whew, am I on an updating streak or what? My thanks for the get-well wishes. They tell me I'll be good as new in about 4 months or so. To which I say I am better now. And we all know who the outstanding authority figure is on this matter. Me. Ah yes, a wise call on Aragorn's Bad Idea. It will be one of the greater Bad Ideas of his day, I'm certain. Thank you for the wonderful review!!! :)

Hallo! I love this chapter. The humour between Aragorn and Halbarad is priceless, especially the hair-chop! I only wish the chapter were longer!
As for the "encounter" between Gilraen and one of Elrond's sons, I would think it most unlikely, as they were known to ride with Arathorn's rangers. If they knew him, and given the ages at which he both married and later died, it would seem very unlikely that there was any time for Gilraen to have an encounter (if I remember correctly, she was considerably younger than Arathorn at marriage). Also, I tend to follow the same idea of Gilraen as presented by AfterEver's "Last Hope" story. But ultimately, the choice is yours. (Dunno if that helps any.)

Author Reply: Emma- Thank you! I'm so happy you enjoyed it--I had an absolute blast writing the chapter. Fantastic comments regarding Gilraen. I'm inclined to agree, and actually, I tried to revolve it around the concept that Gilraen still loved Arathorn. Thank you so much! :)
