The sky, the stars, Anor and Ithil – they were no more. Perhaps they had never been. How easy it would be to lose sanity, and all hope, in such a situation. *shivers* Author Reply: Yes — agreed. The black breath just sounds terrible … Thx for reading!

During his first conversation with Frodo, Sam and Pippin Aragorn mentions that he knows about the Nazgûl. I wonder if he's referring to his encounter with them in your story? Things look so grim. You did wonderfully with your description of Aragorn's battle with the inertia of the black breath. I can only read on knowing Aragorn will survive for LOTR. I'm worried about Elrohir and Daelin. As I read any fiction I automatically Project what might happen next. In this case I'm wondering if Halbarad, Dorhaur and Elladan will arrive to help or, if they arrived first and were similarly attacked. Oh no! You've worked up a gripping head of suspense. Write on. Author Reply: Thank you! Glad you’re enjoying — all will be answered in due time. ;-) Thx so much for your comments!

I have long pondered the quoted passage. They are terrible! What a marvellous gap-filler this is! I am eager to read on. Author Reply: Thank you! So am I! :-D Things are slowing down a bit finally — fingers crossed that I will finally have time to get this all put together — it’s been swimming around in my head for ages …

A terrible encounter. A nasty business, fighting naxzgul. Author Reply: Indeed. Not something with which anyone would want to be suddenly faced …

You have set the mood well. Not a fit night on which to visit Weathertop, I'd say.

Wow! That lack of ability to move, and the sky becomming nothing but inky blackness sounds like Merry when found on the road in Bree. It also has echoes of the blackness that Faramir, Eowyn and Merry wandered in after the battle on the Pellenor. But now, how long do they lay there in weakness? Who will come rescue them? Author Reply: Thx! Yes, I can’t imagine the consequences of getting to near a Nazgul would be pleasant. Hopefully it won’t be too long before they’re found — the sooner the better, for sure.

This whole scene is masterfully described. How easy you make it to now understand Aragorn's fierce attack on the Nazgul with the flaming brand when the hobbits were under attack on Weathertop. Author Reply: Thank you! Yes, you’d think he’s somehow need some previous experience to know not to go right for his usual weapons …

Outstanding story! I appreciate your bringing one of your former characters - Daelin - into this new story. Such an inclusion adds a bit of continuity to your work. Thank you for a good read, and I am very glad that you are continuing to write for Stories of Arda. Speaking of which: I have written to Stories of Arda requesting info on how to publish stories through the Stories of Arda site. I have received NO replies whatsoever. I do have a penname and a login i.d. and password, but have not gotten any further. Can you direct me to a place where I can get some info on how to get started? Thank you very much. Author Reply: Thanks! And yes — figured I had the OCs, might as well use them…. I don’t really know … sorry! The only idea I have is to try emailing again, that’s the only method of communication I know for the site, so I’m not really any help.
