| You can see your way through a problem faster than almost anyone; so fast, in fact, that many people don't realize that you've thought something through before you act. They see it as impulsive. What a marvelously perceptive thing to say. As long as Pippin and Merry have one another, there's nothing they won't be able to face. Author Reply: You are right. They are an unstoppable force. I think so many people sell Pippin short on his intelligence. I always figured he was brighter than he let on but he was easily bored. I also figured he had a lot of practice writing because his father would have wanted to settle him down so I had him giving Pippin all the transcription work. It would force him to sit still and focus. He can do that, but it is not something he enjoys. He's an observer and an intuitive thinker. Thanks for reading and thanks for quoting that line. That was not the one I figured people would notice, but I glad you did. | |

| Oh how neat to see something new from you, dear! This looks very exciting, and I will enjoy seeing how your Pippin fits into his Thainship! Author Reply: Thanks, Dreamflower. I'm glad to be back writing again. I've got about three or four chapters of this story written and the first couple of chapters on the the last of the Pippin and Diamond and their attempt to have children trilogy done. I'm hoping to be able to keep at it till both are done soon. I'm hoping that the stories live up to everyones' hopes. | |

| Here I stand now, your heir and successor, and know this, I will do my best for our people. It will not always be what you would have done, but it will be the best that I can do. And that's all any of us can do. This is a very moving look at Pippin's first day as Thain. His loving family, and all that he's learned in his travels, will help him get through anything. | Lovely! Have been out of town all week and came home to this hobbity story, such a treat! I love the details, like the description of the sky in the beginning, the old Thain's letter to his son (hah, very practical, even at the end), Regi's note of support, and the little scene between Pippin and Diamond at the end. I already love the way you've painted their relationship, in just this brief glimpse. Looking forward to day 2! and 3, and 4... Author Reply: Thanks so much for the encouraging review. I have to confess that when I read that opening scene a few months ago, I had to ask myself if I really wrote that. :) My descriptions aren't usually that good. This has been a fun story to write so far and when I get the inspiration, it has practically written itself. Hope the rest can live up to expectations. | |
