Elf Academy 3: The Enemy Within  by Fiondil 16 Review(s)

A very powerful and great chapter. Lord Namo does have a way about him to calm just about anything. Loved Elrond's continuing interactions with his sons and his new insights on how they and this new world have changed. Thank you.

Author Reply: I'm glad you found the chapter powerful, UTfrog. Lord Námo does have a way with him and he's able to take people's reactions to him with humor, which helps, I think. Elrond is having a ball being with his sons again and helping them out. Thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it.

Poor Namo, he gets such a bad rap. I am glad they were able to save Janey tho. And I am sure it will help them all in the long run to understand the elves aren't evil.

Well, off to surgery so this will give me a "happy place" to go to. I won't have the twins or Elrond there for real, but maybe I will for a bit, depending on the drugs they give me. LOL ;)

Author Reply: Hi Laer. A friend of mine who's a rabid Tolkien fan went in for surgery and after she'd been doped up, before they put her under, the doctor asked if she trusted him and she said, quite truthfully, "No, because you're not Elrond of Rivendell". LOL! The doctor and nurses got a kick out of that.

Anyway, I'm sure the Mortals of Wiseman interacting with "Nate" will be less fearful when they have to interact with Lord Námo when that day comes.

Thanks for taking the time to read and review. Good luck with your surgery.

"And I am not a monster. Not even close. Just ask my wife" :D
poor Námo, though how did they know that he was the vala of death?? as far as I read, only very few of the mortals knew that he was the angel of death while the others only knew him to be an archangel. And what do we ask your wife??? :D
poor Janey as well, to suffer such trauma at such a young age :(
Elrond SHOULD be proud of his sons. Irmo is indeed good at what he does, brought pride to his family :D :D :D
“You used to curse my name fighting for the lives of your patients,” Námo replied.
Well this is the first time I hear of it, usually they pray for him to mercy the patients, not curse him and surely NOT ELROND doing so.
All in all, it was a great chapter :D :D
Waiting for the new :D :D

Author Reply: Hi Amony. Well, Námo's been hanging around Wiseman for quite some time now and I'm sure the Elves have explained just who he is and what he does, so even the Stillmans would know about him, especially dressed the way he was. As for what they should ask Vairë, that should be obvious: whether or not Námo is a monster.

And I'm sure Elrond fought for the lives of his patient just as hard as any healer. The Elves are not angels or even saints and Elrond is very passionate. I doubt he was always polite. After all, he is also a warrior as well as a healer.

Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter and are looking forward to the next one. Thanks for letting me know. I appreciate it.

Oh help! How does one edit a review after its posted? I can't find anything that says EDIT. Anyway, I meant contraptions, not contractions, in my earlier review. I tried to proofread before posting, but that totally escaped me. And it makes me think of pregnant women in the OBGYNE section, totally out of context. I'm sorry.

Author Reply: I know you can review before you post but not afterwards. Thanks for the clarification, though. I appreciate it. Sometimes I can sort of figure out what people were trying to say in spite of misspellings and wrong words altogether, but it does help to have corrections at times.

That moment when Elrond said how proud he was of his sons brought tears to my eyes. I can't imagine how much he must have missed his children. Living in the perfection of Aman could not have been all that wonderful for him while missing Arwen and always wondering how his sons were faring amidst the dangers and uncertainties of Middle Earth. Being with them again...how happy he must be right now. And I can only imagine how fascinated he must be with all those strange contractions and injections and medical instruments...so totally different from Lorien...

Its nice to know that the Stillmans have now thawed considerably towards the Elves, with a little help from Lord Namo.

I can't believe I'm actually looking forward to Monday, but I am, or more specifically, to the next chapter!

Author Reply: Hi Celeth. I'm sure Elrond often wondered how his sons fared as well as his daughter's descendants. At least now he can see them in action and that has to be a balm to his soul. And yes, I'm sure he's very fascinated by all the medical instruments the Mortals have devised and he's probably itching to get his hands on some of it and play. *grin*

And hopefully the Stillmans will come around.

Thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it.

Atya,

I know I have plenty of chapters to play catch-up on but I want you to know I have read them all and am loving the way the story is progressing. This chapter has - the last few have, really - been immensely interesting to me, considering I just came home from the hospital myself. Bladder issues. Grr. Anyway. I wish I had Elrond and the Twins as my healers!

The Stillmans were definitely seeing a new light when Namo showed up in all his glory. I am glad they, particularly Mr. Stillman, are putting their bigotry aside and realise the good the Elves are doing for their people.

The Code Blue and DNR made me sad, but as it is said, to everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under Heaven (hope I quoted that right, it's three AM and I haven't slept one bit). A time to be born, and a time to die. It's good they all realise that. Thank you for so many thought-provoking chapters. It seems new lines are being drawn here at the hospital.

I wonder if Mr. Stillman was involved with the C4?

Tye-melin,

Kaylee

Author Reply: Hi Kaylee. Sorry to hear about your medical issues. Hope things are better now for you.

I doubt if George Stillman was involved with the C4. He may not like the Elves but he's not a rabid Elf-hater like Peterson.

Hopefully what happened with Janey will help him see the Elves in a new light and treat Glorfindel better than he has. We'll have to see.

And you quoted the bible verse pretty well in spite of lack of sleep. *grin*

Thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it. Tye-melin.
