Very true, we do not always see ourselves as others see us. Liam/Legolas had better hope that his next few shifts are so boring they grow moss on them!

And just what is wrong with swinging on lamp posts?

Have a good weekend,
Lynda

Author Reply: Hi Lynda. We'll see how Legolas handles things with his fellow police officers in the next chapter.

And there's nothing wrong with swinging on lamp posts, but if you're trying NOT to draw attention to yourself, swinging on lamp posts isn't the way to go.

Have a good weekend yourself. Thanks for reviewing.

Three groups of anger management classes and definitely three different approaches to the theme of the night. I thought that your interpretations of how each group perceived Liam joining the police force was spot on with the personalities in each group.

It was interesting that Ron's group was mostly reborns and I would add, the management of the elves. Their perceptions of how Liam made a decision to look for employment without consulting the rest of the elves was enlightening. It led to the fact that Glorfindel needs to start delegating some of his responsibilities to other elves and that Finrod needs to step up in some of his duties.

Sunny did her homework in the history of elves to really show that she is aware of interactions between elves and mortals. I really liked the way she was able to rebut the other elves by talking about Tuor and Gondolin that showed elves were able to work with mortals and work under mortal supervision. It certainly put in perspective that the elves were considering Liam their group leader and that they would have separated themselves from the mortals which was doomed to failure from the start. I think the elves considering becoming rangers will have to rethink why they are becoming rangers.

Max's group was probably the most interesting in that it was attended by Liam and that it was in a conference room, which puts people in a more structured environment as they are sitting around a table versus sitting in a more relaxed setting. Max was certainly correct in that Liam may face some resistance from the mortal police officers for his outstanding catching of criminals twice now. But I think in the long run Liam will be able to defuse any situation and learn from it.

Great chapter! Unless your background is in psychology you had to do some research into how to conduct group meetings to discuss difficult topics. It showed in how you had each group reacting to the theme of the meeting.

Have a great weekend. Looking forward to Monday.

Author Reply: Hi rikki. While I took Psych 101 in college like everyone does, I can't claim to have a background in psychology, but I like to think of myself as an observer of the human condition, which is a good thing to be if one is a writer, even a writer of fan fiction.

And while each group dealt with the the theme differently, they each brought to light some of the problems the Elves, especially those recently from Valinor, are facing or will face as they seek to integrate themselves into Wiseman's society.

We'll see how Legolas takes Max's advice in the next chapter.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. I very much appreciate it.

Poor Glorfindel. So the loss of his ring has been bothering him more than the others realized. Maybe the Maiar can help him recover it? But as they keep reminding the Elves, they are not to interfere directly. On the other hand, maybe this is the Valar's way of "weaning" him off his dependence on that ring, and he learns to accept help from his fellow Elves instead.

Good point by Sunny there hahaha. Lucky for her that she has studied the history of the Elves. I suppose she had to do that before beginning her counseling sessions.

I forgot to mention in the last chapter, but its great how the Three Amigos have adapted so quickly and so well into Mortal culture. Its interesting to read about them interacting with their friends/classmates as equals, so far removed from the shock of their encounter with Alex and Derek when they first arrived.

Thanks again for another chapter and happy weekend!

Author Reply: Hi Celeth. The issue with Glorfindel's ring will be addressed in a later chapter.

Sunny's had three years to learn the true history of the Elves, so I'm not surprised that she was able to counter the Elves' arguments as she did. I'm sure they were impressed. *grin*

The Three Amigos have certainly come a long way in a short time from when we first meet them. They obviously took Alex's lessons to heart and learned from them. I doubt their friends back in Aman would even recognize them now. LOL!

Thanks for reviewing. Have a great weekend yourself!
