Elf Academy 3: The Enemy Within  by Fiondil 13 Review(s)

Hm, well that explains way Glorfi was there and all the others, but just why did Ratty's Crowd pull out? Did some one have second thoughts or was this a dry run/recon mission, or was it even Ratty's Crowd? There have to be other players in this Game, just who are they?

I can understand Alex' anger, he can't seem to turn around with out tripping over an Elf, they seem to be every where he is. I know why they are doing it, but it has to be irksome! I kind of wish we could get Ratty sorted, then things would get back to normal, well as normal as things can be around Elves, don't forget we have a wedding to organize and a nervous Bride and Bridegroom to calm !

Checks on the chili and goes back to chewing nails. Corn bread sounds good Rikki.

Huggs,
Lynda

Author Reply: Hi Lynda. I imagine Farrell's people, if that's who they were, pulled out because they were ordered to. Why? Who can say. Not everything can be explained, and such is life.

Alex is indeed angry but he's angry at the wrong people for the wrong reasons. But I think once they deal with Farrell, things will improve for him. And he has Felicity to take his mind off things. *grin*

As for the wedding, we'll be address that soon enough, never fear.

Thanks for leaving a review. I appreciate it.

Wow, a lot happened here in this chapter on a different level than just the story with information we the readers have been aware of and lots of new details that we have not seen before. You moved the action up another notch here.

Stealth elves, unless you happened to bump into them you would not know they are there. I wonder if they would show up if under a heat scan. Then Ed shows up and proves even the elves can be surprised. I wonder if Alex was on his game if the elves would be working harder to keep up with him.

Significant information about Farrell in this chapter. He has help and it includes the agency where Ed and Alex worked. They have technology that can listen in on cell phones and can use tracers and other things that the elves might not have found. Alex, Ed and the elves are going to have to identify these agents or they will never know if one is standing beside them in some place or not.

Bold move on Farrell's part. He has proven that he can pin Alex down in a location the second time and that he can be gone before the elves can activate. The van next to Alex's car is important I think.

Now Alex needs to make some very important decisions and apologize to some people. Even though he has always been a lone wolf, as Ed points out, Alex is no longer a big fish in a small pond. If he is going to be part of this game to prepare for the coming war then he is going to have to make significant changes to his life style. Without overdoing it you have shown this evolution Alex is making from being alone after Amroth left to being dragged kicking and screaming into a big family. Love this chapter!

Author Reply: Hi rikki. Yes, quite a bit is happening in this chapter, and yes, even Elves can be surprised. Alex does need to make important decisions and do some apologizing. Finlay is very correct about his attitude and it's hard to realize that you're no longer king of the mountain. I think it'll take Alex a little time to come to that realization and deal with it. Thanks for leaving a comment. I appreciate it very much.

Outstanding chapter! Alex got told some truths that are likely to be hard to stomach. He has been whiny and apparently sloppy - tracers, really. Ed's comments ring true even though Alex would deny them. Also love that the elves were also caught short, not covering the windows. Seems the watchers knew they were discovered and left. That alone is disturbing. Great job. Thank you.

Author Reply: I'm glad you enjoyed this chapter, UTfrog. Yes, Alex does learn some hard truths and he's not happy about it, but there you are. Ed is no one's fool and tells it like it is. He's about a decade older than Alex and he's a survivor. Alex would do well to listen to him. And even Elves can't think of everything. *grin* Thanks for reviewing. I appreciate it.
