Ah! The toys of dale are to be as much a wonder and delight in Gondor as in the Shire, apparently. And wonderful to think that one day Boromir and Faramir will play with toys that are available in good part due to the intervention of a certain Hobbit. Author Reply: Well, if your entire industry is built on exports, you'd want to sell them everywhere you could, right? And I think a lot of children owe their childhood toys to Bilbo.

Ooh! The creation of dragons! What a concept he has, and how fearsome it proved! The problem with making awful things, however, is that almost everybody else conspires to destroy them if they can! Well done! Author Reply: Well, I do find dragons to be very magnificent creatures, but only from a distance...

Frodo is such a rascal! What a delightful trick... one his cousins will *never* fall for again.

I like this scene very much. I was just thinking about Dale's 'magical toys' the other day! Author Reply: Thanks! I always thought the toys of Dale were a delightful extra bit of flavor to Middle-earth.

I only have time for one before bedtime, so OF COURSE I head straight for my lovely cousin-fic! *grin* It's so fun to watch Frodo put one over on those two--yes, it *is* a little mean to use their worry over *him*, but it's the one thing he knows for 100% certain will WORK. So of course it does. The scary thing is, it will probably *always* work on them, even if they suspect him the next time. And in the meanwhile, so fun to see him actually feeling quite well and with a good appetite (four pieces of the cake!). Of course, I've no idea what Rosie's brothers might have been up to, but I'm sure Sam could handle them. If not, Rosie most certainly could!
