Good thing I wasn't drinking anything as I read this, Jay. Having just had a root canal, I can sympathize with Elrohir but Bilbo's words were priceless. Author Reply: And another review I never got! Poor you on the root canal - hope it's better now!

Oops! Elrohir, didn't anyone tell you to stay out of the kitchen? Far too dangerous a place for a mere warrior. LOL! Author Reply: Elrohir is finding out just how dangerous it can be ...

*snork* Reminds me of the mistakes we've had with mistaking baking soda for baking powder. Author Reply: I seem to have missed a lot of review alerts - I'm sorry for the delay in replying. It pays to read a recipe VERY carefully!

Nasty! gross! Author Reply: I seem to have missed a lot of review alerts - I'm sorry for the delay in replying. Elrohir would certainly agree with you ...

ROTFL!! That totally cracked me up! Author Reply: Thank you! I admit it was fun to write, and I may have got a few funny looks for sniggering to myself when I thought of the chill/chilli mix up :>)

*laughs out loud* Poor Elrohir! Another - or perhaps the first, chronologically speaking - victim of Bilbo's kitchen, even if in an unexpected manner. This also makes me curious what elves do about broken or cracked teeth. Author Reply: Yes, poor Elrohir - again. He's actually the only victim of Bilbo's kitchen! I had a discussion on another site about elves' broken teeth. We decided they must re-grow, or Elrohir would have a gappy smile for a very long time.

It's probably easier to follow the beginning of the recipe book over here than going all backwards at tolkien_weekly. ;) I so can picture this scene in my head, and of course the challenges Bilbo faces in an elven-equipped kitchen. These little glimpses in Bilbo's past life and beloved pass-times are lovely. Author Reply: Poor Bilbo - he'd have to stand on something to be able to see over the work tops! It was fun to imagine him pottering about, making things for his elvish friends.

Ouch! Somehow I don't think that elves have dentists... Author Reply: At least Elrond's a healer, so he should be able to do something :)

Quite lucky, indeed! *grin* Thanks for a pleasant weekend early morning read. Author Reply: Hmm - lucky for whom? Not Elrohir, that's for sure!

*chortle* I can just hear Bilbo muttering under his breath. It doesn't surprise me at all that it isn't him, but an innocent bystander that risks the headache... Author Reply: Poor Elrohir! If Bilbo had only asked for help to reach those high shelves ...
