Aww, what a pity this story is seemingly on hiatus. You don't come across well-written mystery fanfics too often these days. I'd have liked to see the plot unfold further. Ah well... Good read, though, even as a cliffhanger! Author Reply: It is not a forever hiatus! It’s on the to-do list. Thanks for showing interest… pokes like these are appreciated. :)

Very well written and easily read! (Sometimes it's hard to enjoy a fic you can't help but beta as you read it.) Your tone was excellent, and I'd love to see this plot continued. :) Author Reply: Thank you for your kind words! The story /will/ be finished, slowly but surely. The author just needs to be kicked sometimes; this counts as a kick. ;)

This is a cute story! I hope to see more of it soon :) Ah Sam <3 Author Reply: Thank you! Sam is a lovely person to work with. :)

Most interesting turn of events, I must say! I hope that they learn soon what happened to the Chubb youth, and why Lily was searching the stable! Author Reply: Thanks, Larner! Three more chapters I have allotted to this -- Sam better find a way to wrap things up! heh!

I hope you continue this story. You do a great job of portraying the warmth of the Gamgee household and have me very much in suspense about what Gimli and Leogas are up to! It's fun to find a story that has so many of my favorite characters. I also want to find out what happens to young Frodo, now that he's decided elves and dwarves are only make-believe! Author Reply: I really want to get back into this story. There’s a lot I want to find out too. :) If only the time spent in fanfiction could count toward credit hours! Thank you so much!

I think you've perfectly captured how I picture the Gamgee family at this point! I love how you've portrayed Sam, as a mayor and a father. You have such a charming and engaging writing style: I'm quite intrigued by Legolas and Gimli's "surprise" and definitely looking forward to finding out more! (Hehe, doggie-Legolas reminds me of my parents' mastiff. Doesn't quite realize how big she is, and only wants to shower everyone with love!) Author Reply: I don’t have a lot of experience with dogs, brazen cat person that I am… H’m, but you know, I do picture Leg-doggie as a little bit of a mastiff and a dash of shepherd. :) The Gamgees are borrowed from a friend’s fic. He’s got a splendid skill for portraying families. My imitations can’t measure up to his, but if they’re at least not coming out flat, I’m glad. Thank you for your kind review! I hope the impending holiday season is treating you well. :)

"Just hang on" is exactly what you've got me doing with this tale. You are putting this together with a true understanding for the characters involved and are fleshing out Sam and Rosie's wonderful family in full. I will look forward to the next chapter. - Erulisse (one L) Author Reply: I like to work with the Gamgees. The family is drawn from memories of my little brothers back when they were little, but that’s (usually!) fun territory to revisit… :P Thank you again! I appreciate your comments! :)

What a wonderfully promising and enchanting hobbit-tale! I always love stories in which the Elf and Dwarf come to visit the Shire, and this one has both a delightful and mysterious beginning! I am wondering if the missing young hobbit may have something to do with Frodo-lad's odd mood? And Sam's right. His oldest is going to find it an uphill climb to deny Legolas and Gimli to their faces! And I am eager to find out what the Secret, er, I mean, Surprise is; and *very* eager to see the reunion with Merry and Pippin (the elders)! Author Reply: I’m fond of Shire-visiting stories too mainly because L and G’s goodbye in RotK never satisfied me. Ahh, I shall keep zip about Frodo-lad…Big Merry and Pippin are not scheduled to appear for some chapters, but there will be some leak on the Secret between now and then… ;) Thank you, Dreamflower!

Wow, I think that chapter made me breathless. Too. many. hobbit. children. Very breathless. I liked Legolas being Rose-lass's servant forever, which is around 100 years. Too cute! How old is Frodo? He seems like a human teen. Legolas and Gimli out eating hobbits...I didn't think that was possible! Last line made me laugh, "hang on and don't look." So true....Anyway, good chapter, and I hope you get on it and write the next one! Author Reply: Just looking at the Gamgee family tree makes me breathless… no, I don’t know how Rosie and Sam so it. Frodo’d be about 10; never too young for teenage moodiness… or at least that’s what I recall… :P Thank you! Getting on it… ;)

A delightful evening, I must say, although I grieve that Frodo-lad has refused to believe in Dwarves and Elves lately. Now, to come face to face with the real things! And the lads on the Row--they will be forced to come around now, as has been pointed out. Author Reply: Yes, Frodo’s having peer-pressure trouble right now, though one must admit his dad’s adventures were little fantastical... Thank you, Larner! :)
