Many Meetings  by lwarren 20 Review(s)

Oh another treat, and this time we see Legolas as Lord of Ithilien and meeting and beating suspicion with his considerable charm and understanding, Conn doesn't know how fortunate he is to have had this help with the pointed ears arriving as it did.
Thank You for this
Judy

Author Reply: Hey Judy! Thank you for the kind review. I enjoyed having Legolas help Conn deal with his suspicions and overcome them enough to accept help from his neighbors (of the pointed ears! LOL). The Prince has had some experience with this in his dealings with the men of Esgaroth (at least in my universe, that is! I hope to detail some of those dealings in the future! *g*) Thank you again!

I think I have read this one before - did you post it in the AA group some time ago? In any case, I still love it. The interaction between Conn and Legolas and how you describe Legolas here is just so beautiful. I would certainly welcome the elves with open arms! *g*

Author Reply: You are so right, Tinu! You have read this on the AA group, probably about 3 or 4 months ago. I'm glad you still enjoyed it - I did do some editing on it, so it read a little smoother, at least in my opinion. As for Conn, I fussed at that boy the whole time I was writing, telling him not to look a gift elf in the mouth...or ear :-)! LOL He has a hard head, though. I'm glad the Prince was able to talk some sense into him! Thank you again for the review!

Aww, Linda, that was so sweet!!!I so loved the image of the family sitting together in the branches of that tree, listening to the trees and watching the stars together! *sigh*

“This scion of my house shall join me as a guardian to all who would call Eryn Lasgalen home.” And indeed he did. This sounds so much like what Legolas is going to become that I'm beginning to wonder if Thranduil has a tiny little bit of foresight. *g*

It's probably needless to say, but I loved it. :)

Almut

Author Reply: Thanks, Almut! You know me...I dearly love writing about the elves. I could only think that as close a tie that the Elvenking would have to the forest, he would be certain to present his heir to those trees. And I loved the idea of one of those eldest of trees sheltering the little family for the night. Thank you for the kind review!

Oh what a delightful tale! I've missed your writing greatly! I'd forgotten how engaging your characters are. :) Bring on more, meldis!!!

Author Reply: Hey NiRi! Thank you so much for the review - I enjoyed the family in this story, even if Conn wouldn't take my word for it that the elves were ok!:-) I do plan on writing more; thank you so much for the encouragement!

A wonderful way to find new friends, and to overcome fears of other races.

Author Reply: Thank you Larner. Conn just needed a 'close encounter' to put his fears to a final rest. He was just a tad intimidated, you see...And they do turn out to be the best of neighbors...but that is a story for another time. :-) Thank you again for the kind review.

It strikes me that lots of people are afraid of the magical and uncanny and elves might look that way to men. So I think it's realistic that Conn's first instinct would be to fear elves. This is a nice moment, when he's strong and brave enough to recognize kindness when he sees it, even in someone so different.

Author Reply: Hello, daw! You know, Conn was a brave warrior for Gondor during the war and I couldn't figure out why he was so insistent about keeping the elves at arm's length, especially when his home and family were at risk. What you say in your review is true - the elves must have seemed so far and above the average mortal, what with their immortal selves and unearthly beauty. It took awhile for Conn to get past that, but he finally did and made some valuable friends. Thank you for the review, daw!

What a lovely story this was and how appropriate that Thranduil would wish to introduce his son to his most loyal subjects and how proud they must have been when they heard his name.
So many wonderful visual images here, I'm happy to see a new set of tales from you it has been too long

Author Reply: Thank you, thechevin, and I'm so glad you enjoyed Legolas' little introduction to the forest! And I am excited to be back - RL and health issues pretty much eliminated everything for a long time. I've really missed it (and all of you, especially!) Thanks again for the kind review.

So sweet an introduction for the wee princeling! Wonderful beginning to what I hope will be a long and delightful series!

Have missed seeing your writing!

Author Reply: Thank you, Larner! I enjoyed writing about this special introduction of the Prince to his father's favorite subject! I'm glad you enjoyed this and I hope to add more to the series (*crosses fingers*). I've missed writing - didn't know how much until I got back into it (actually I've missed reading, too - and all of you guys). It is so very good to be back!

What a lovely, elfy scene! I love the way the trees respond to Thranduil and his family.

Author Reply: Thank you, daw! I thought that the birth of the heir deserved some sort of recognition from the forest - and I've always thought Thranduil would have a special connection to his forest. (I'm very relieved it seemed elfy - sometimes I wonder if that comes across.)

Simply beautiful! I just love your Thranduil! And so nice to see you posting again!

*hugs*

Author Reply: Hello, NiRi! Thanks so much for the kind review - I have a soft spot in my heart for the King, too! I figured the birth of the heir deserved a special recognition from forest! :-) And thank you, it is good to be back! It's been a long, dry spell and I didn't realize how much I missed it (and you guys) until I got involved again! *big hugs to you* (You would have howled to see me figuring out how to post this - nilmandra has always assisted in the past, but I decided to be a big girl and do it myself! HA! Very big HA!) More to come! Yay!
