Aw, poor Gorp. He just wasn't suited to life as an Orc. Perhaps he'll come back as a buzzard--I'm sure he'd find maggots more apetizing that way. Makes you wonder--surely there *were* a few wimpy and unsuitable orcs, like Gorp... Author Reply: Well, as varied as the races of hobbites, men, elves, dwarves, ents, etc. were, it makes sense that there would be a few wimpy orcs. The orcs in Mordor that Frodo and Sam stumbled across were on the lookout for deserters, after all, so apparently there were some cowards in the bunch. Thanks for the review!

I wasn't sure whether to read this as maggots give me the creeps, but I loved your anti hero and almost liked him by the end!It is rare to read an Orc story so entertaining. Author Reply: Linda, you are FAR too kind. I'm glad you enjoyed little Gorp. To love him and almost like him. Quite the feat. :) Thank you for the review!

I actually feel sorry that poor Gorp was killed! A lovely little tale. Thank you! Author Reply: And thank YOU for reviewing! Sorry about killing Gorp, but being from a race of villains, I didn't feel like I was helping out in the War of Sauron if I left him alive. Besides, the Ent insisted. Thanks again!

Oh, I think I love poor Gorp. And the idea that he would realize a tree was studying him and not put three and three together and at least get four--poor guy. His cleverness with his fellows worked, but he's had NO experience with Ents. And his one experience became his ONLY one--ever! I never thought I'd meet a lovable orc! Heh! Author Reply: Hmm... I'm not sure I'd consider Gorp to be loveable, but I suppose he's not as distasteful as others. :) Many thanks for the review, and I'm glad you liked poor little Gorp. He was fun to write.
