The Weather Outside is Frightful  by Radbooks 15 Review(s)

Cute, Radbooks. I loved Asfaloth in this, especially as he seemed to be the only one with a clue (except for Glorfindel, who is never clueless). *grin* I'm sure Legolas had to make adjustments right and left with four hobbits and two Men, not to mention a dwarf and a wizard, for company on the long road. And I'm sure he's learned to be more respectful of horses after this. Merry Christmas.

Author Reply: Thanks, Fiondil! Asfaloth sort of took over the story as I was writing it. You know how characters do that. :) No, Glorfindel is never, ever clueless... it was fun writing him as I hadn't done that much before - just a few sentences in Safekeeping.

Legolas is only just beginning to appreciate just what he's in for!

Glad to see this. I've not done a Yule challenge yet, although I did have my story to write for an exchange that had to have the Hobbits advising Aragorn on the perfect gift for Aragorn and Arwen's first Yule together.

Ah, well--need to see if I can get a bit of rest before I go back to work tonight.

Poor Legolas--having to put on dirty clothes for a time! But better that than sitting around in the cold in wet things! Now--for the baths!

Author Reply: Thanks for reviewing, Larner!

Yes, I think Legolas will have the biggest adjustments of all the Fellowships, though spending the time in Rivendell will help. I had to have the part with him wearing Aragorn's clothes, it was just too funny not to, but I actually tamed it down a little bit.

It was fun doing a challenge and trying to fit in the different elements. It's the first one I've done, though I've wanted to try some of the ones for the Teitho contest, but time is precious and I'm usually in the middle of something. However, Rebecca and Thomas are being very stubborn and so this was something fun to do instead. I'm hoping that after some time away, Rebecca and Thomas will speak with me... though the chapter is more than 3/4 done.

Have a wonderful and Merry Christmas!

Found myself trying to guess which elf would end up naked! Well done.LBJ

Author Reply: Thanks for reviewing, I'm glad you enjoyed it. If you blinked you would have missed Legolas getting naked, but he did for just a moment there. :)

Have a Merry Christmas!

Thank you - seasonal *and* a gap-filler. I do like stories set before they are all so caught up in events (if that makes sense!).
Merry Christmas (or Happy Yule, if you prefer!).

Author Reply: You're very welcome! Thank you for taking the time to leave me a review. I hadn't thought about it, but it was a gap-filler. It was fun for me to write a story set in that time frame because I too like stories set in the calm before the storms. Have a Merry Christmas.
