| p.s. forgot to say I loved this: Seeing the frightened face tilted back to look up at him, the wizard gently tugged Pippin’s hair in apology. Your characterizations are so deft! Your characters say and do just what I'd think they would. The fact that the pipe still had glowing coals underlines how quickly disaster struck. Whew! | |

| Ok... I was wondering if we'd hear from Frodo, or if we'd simply share the viewpoint of those searching for him. The answer came in the last seconds... though, as I expected, not much of an answer. Hmmm. So much fun to speculate. Who? What? Why? Where? (reminds me of seeing a Stephen King interview, have I ever told you about that? He talked about this story he'd never been able to write, not yet, anyhow. Someone goes into a ladies' room at an airport. A long time later, her husband asks another woman to check on her, to see if she's ok. Neither come out. The husband asks airport security. A female security guard goes in. She never comes out. He said he hadn't figured out where to take the story from there...) Anyhow, it sounds as if you have this firmly in hand. Fastening seat belt and getting ready for the ride. | |
