If You Could See What I Hear  by cathleen 60 Review(s)

Wow! If I counted right, we have now four different strands in this story: three search parties - and Pippin :) I'm impressed!

I really hope that the forest was not tricking Paladin and sent him in the wrong direction. After all the forest and its inhabitants should have sensed that he is another one with faerie blood in his veins. And they know where his son is.

So, the "cave search party" found Paladin's slingshot? LOL!!! Pippin and his father have indeed a lot in common ;-)

I'm looking forward to reading more.

Author Reply: Yes, there's a lot going on in this tale. You may be surprised in the next chapter as to what is going on with Paladin. I hope you enjoy reading it! Thank you so much for your comments and for continuing to follow my story!!

Ah--the Faerie blood tells in this story, showing up in Paladin and Peregrin both. And we see that Merry wasn't the first one to find that cave! Paladin's catapult! Hooray!

Soon the reunion will take place, and Pippin will return home to his home.

Author Reply: The Took Faerie blood has always fascinated me, and I'm having fun exploring it in this story! Thank you for the FB, Bonnie!

Oh my goodness, how suspenseful! The reunion is going to be so joyous when it finally comes.

“They want you to know how much they appreciate the music they have heard you make, Peregrin. You sing like no other they have heard before, with a voice that is sweet and clear, and that rings with joy and purity.”

That's lovely.

Author Reply: Yes, it should prove to be a very interesting reunion. Thank you so much for your kind words, they're much appreciated!

All so very well done, Cathleen!!

And you are very welcome :-)

I love the things that are happening with Pippin and the faerie folk. I really liked how you handled the business with the small cave. Good suspense and a wonderful surprise resolution!

Like father . . .

Author Reply: Heee! Like father, like son? Yep! I'm so glad you're still enjoying this Pearl, and thank you for letting me know!

Most curious! Paladin didn't actually find Tulip . . . did he? Pip is in the woods . . . isn't he?

I really sympathize with Merry and all the family that is with him. They are so frightened.

Looking forward to more :-)

Author Reply: Thanks so much, Pearl! Yes, they're frightened, but at the same time, I think they all know how adventuresome Pip is. I like to imagine that some among them 'know' for certain that he will be found safe and sound.

Hmm, *did* Pad find Tulip???

Another great Chapter! :D I loved this from beginning to end and how your decribe this small earth fairy is wonderful.
I wonder...you think when Pip is grown, like maybe after the Quest and not as "innocent" as before with all the evil he has seen, how would it be, when he and Roswhen meet again?

Author Reply: Thanks, hon! And - oh my! I see those dangerous wheels are turning in your head....Pip and Rhoswen meet again later? Well, we'll see. It's certainly not out of the realm of possibility.....

AndreaReviewed Chapter: 6 on 1/25/2008
Wow! I just discovered this story today and I read it in one go!

Roshwen seems to be a lot like Pippin! Alfie, who might be a leader of her kind, reacts differently. And I would trust her to bring Pippin back to his own world. For he left his world when he brushed the primroses against that huge stone, right?

I agree with Pippin that Tulip sounds a lot like his mother! But that's exactly what he needs at times ;-)

Paladin is on the right track, and I loved it to see that his "Sight" reassured him that his son was in no danger.

I only wonder what Saradoc and his companions will find! They follow the wrong direction, don't they?

Well, we'll see ...

Thank you for another wonderful story :)

Author Reply: Hmm, I'm thinking that we won't know which direction is 'right' or 'wrong' - I think all roads will eventually lead to Pippin!

Thank you so very much for your generous comments!!

At least Merry is thinking on what Pippin might have done; and with the practicality of Hobbits Eglantine is planning for all contingencies.

Love the search as being followed by Pal, and his trust in his Sight. Now, to find Tulip like that.... Is Pippin in the throes of his own vision granted by the sight? Now I'm wondering just where Pippin WILL be found!

And I love the look at all the small guardians Pippin is meeting. Perhaps he will find it that much the easier in the distant future when he sees Frodo leave Middle Earth, knowing that so many will be watching over his beloved older cousin.

Author Reply: Ah, but has Pad actually found Tulip?

As always, thank you so much for following my little tale and giving me your FB - muchly appreciated, Larner!

My goodness, I hope someone believes Pippin's story when he tells it. What an unusual adventure for him and Tulip.

Author Reply: Yes, it's certainly not an ordinary day, huh? Thanks for your comments Shirebound, they are much appreciated, as always!

Please write more soon! I think Tulip the pig is adorable and it's neat that you don't really say that she doesn't talk to Pippin!

Author Reply: Thank you so much for your kind comments! Yes, I'll have more very soon!
