| Interesting - like Pearl, I thought Galadriel might be the 'betrayer', since she had been tempted by the Ring once before. To think that one small event can change so many things - what would have happened had Boromir or Faramir taken the Ring from Frodo? Or if Aragorn hadn't met the hobbits at the Prancing Pony? Great job, Larner, as always! Author Reply: In this case Galadriel remained true; but what of the husband who had dwelt so long in her shadow, as it were? And it only takes one small change to set up a totally different set of dynamics. And this is the purpose of this set of AUs--to examine how small changes just might have made for a completely different story. | |
