Wow! I don't know whether to be happy or sad that this story is finally done! :) I have so enjoyed reading about the missing three days! You did such a great job, your story will always be in my mind when I read that part of the books again! Thank you so much for sharing it with us!

*Standing ovations from fliewatuet for this wonderful tale*

Wow, so it's over. Phew, that was a close call and so much more intense than the hints Tolkien left us about what happened during those days in Rivendell.

Thanks for writing and sharing,

Yay! That was a great story from start to finish!

Wow, I never thought I'd see anyone able to fill that space in the story with so many wonderful chapters! Poor Frodo went through a bit of a trial, but Sam, Merry, Pippin and Bilbo probably went through worse, not knowing if Frodo was going to make it. It was wonderful to read such a touching story that detailed their pain. Thank you for writing this :)

What an ending! I love your picture of Bilbo sitting by Frodo, and the way you end it all with hobbit laughter. A really, really marvellous story, Budgie!

Happy, happy sigh.

This: "Those were the images that would stay forever in Merry’s memory whenever he thought of that dreadful night. But foremost among them was the sight of their elderly cousin sitting by Frodo’s bedside, limned in light, singing quietly as he stroked his unconscious heir’s hand," was SO perfect -- I could see exactly what Merry would! It was a wonderful last image before he rested.

This was an intense, yet delightful tale -- I was on the edge of my seat up until the end. (And it wasn't as if I didn't know what would happen to Frodo!!)

I do especially like your use of the Elves here. I tend to think they are not used well by most Hobbit-focused writers. So it was good to see them used (and not just made the butt of jokes!) in such a caring way.

Thank you.
