| It's very strange to read Sauron casually addressed by name. Oh, and, of course, he looks just like Dunedain, fair and stern and all. Author Reply: It was incredibly strange to write it so casually and have characters speak it so easily! | Oh dear, dear, dear! I thought all that about Frodo was only gossip! Poor dear! *hugs him* And he ought not to be left alone. But now I know Sauron and Rick will most certainly not be well received; I can imagine what Sam will Say, and I don't blame him, honestly. I know Sauron has changed, but does Frodo have the strength to do this? It doesn't seem so. But something tells me he might find healing through this. Please continue soon! God bless, Galadriel Author Reply: For once, the gossip is close to the mark. I'm sure some would exaggerate, if the situation wasn't so bizarre already. Frodo is having a hard time of it, poor thing, but he does have Sam there with him. There will be surprises in store for everyone when Sauron and Rick make their homecall. And you can bet Sam will have quite a lot to say on the matter! And of course, Frodo's strength is not to be underestimated. ;D | |

| I really like your story. Will you tell us how Rick and Sauron ended up travelling together? Since Sauron is Quenya for "Abhorred", wouldn't he change his name, at least when he's in private with Rick? Will you update soon, please? L. Author Reply: Thank you for reading Laurelin! I never intended to tell how Rick and Sauron first met, but I could work that story into a later chapter. As for Sauron's name, I think he'll be keeping it. He is still abhorred by much of Middle-earth after all, and I think he feels he has to own up to everything he's done connected to that name. Changing his name would feel like a cheat to him. And I rather see it as Scarlet's letter "A" and how it slowly comes to mean something different and more positive as the years go by. But you have given me an idea... I will be updating at least once a week, so as to give myself time to catch up with my LJ and to hopefully finish writing the story. It has come in bursts followed by long pauses, which is another reason I've waited so long to begin posting it here. I'm glad you're enjoying it so far! Thank you again for reading! | |

| Definitely promising to be a good tale GF. And I love how Rick got his name! Author Reply: Rick was a very different character when I first concieved him for a parody I was writing at the time. I needed a joke, so I let Aragorn mistake "rick, cot and tree" for the name of someone who owed him money! I never expected Rick to actually take form, but he did and I'm very glad of it. He's been a hoot to work with. I hope you enjoy the rest of the tale! It will be quite different from anything I've written before, but I'm hoping it will be worth it. :) | |

| I am glad that you decided to hit the publish button. This sounds very intriguing. Now.... can I resist sneaking over to your LJ? Hmmm... Author Reply: Thank you for the encouragement! I'm very very grateful for it. I'm on chapter 11 on my LJ and will hopefully be posting 12 soon. I'm about halfway through writing that one. As I post the chapters here, I'll be polishing them up and adding a few more details as needed. | |

| Oh, I'm glad you're posting this here! I've been wanting to read it for a while, and this will make it easier. Why do I see a similarity between Rick and Pippin? LOL! And the way you came up with his name is great! *G* No, Rick and Sauron do not have an easy task before them, no indeed. Frodo will not like this at all, and neither will Sam or his cousins if they hear (and I know at least one of them will). This has to be one of the strangest fics I've ever read, but I'm very intrigued! More soon, please! :) God bless, Galadriel Author Reply: I'm so glad you're finally reading it! And that you're enjoying it. :D Rick and Pippin? LOL He does ask a lot of questions, doesn't he? And his name was just a happy accident. I needed a joke for a parody I was writing at the time, and when Eowyn got to that line, I let Aragorn make the mistake of thinking she was talking about a person (who just happened to owe him money! lol) No easy task indeed. Getting into Hobbiton will be one thing, convincing Frodo and Sam will be another. I'll try my best to update at least once a week. That will allow for any lulls in inspiration I might have as I finish it at LJ. | |
