Oh, how very sweet, being willing to share socks and the love of mothers!

Author Reply: I always imagine that these gruff warriors, once they overcame their initial mistrust, would find that they had much in common. I'm very glad you enjoyed reading these!

Mothers are mothers, aren't they? Love it!

Author Reply: And none of them are any different, in the ferocity of their love for their sons. Thanks for reading and commenting!

It's so lovely to see good Gimli stories! I don't usually read drabbles, but I am so glad that I read these. I have a particular soft spot for the dwarf. More, please?

Author Reply: Thanks! I don't write Gimli often, but when I do I enjoy interacting with him very much, quite different from the Men of Gondor and Rohan that I usually write.

There may be one more drabble coming along to go with this. I also have another story in which Gimli is a major protagonist: Too Few Words. Thank your for taking the time to read and comment!

I am really glad Gimli survives the quest, because I would not want to be the one to bring this woman bad news.

Author Reply: "And though she be but little, she is fierce." Poor Gloin had a LOT of explaining to do!

Thanks for reading and commenting - I'm quite pleased and surprised to see such an enthusiatic response to three little drabbles.

Do we even know how big dwarves' feet are? Now you're making me think about it!

Author Reply: They [the feet] seem as though they'd be rather large in proportion to the size of the dwarves. Dwarves always seem stocky, powerfully built (like Boromir), so it makes sense that they would have good sized feet to carry that weight. Though this could all be wishful thinking on my part, as well as Boromir's.

There is just something about a guy telling his wife not to get her beard all in a knot LOL...

Author Reply: Oh, I've always got to get the lady dwarf's beard in their somewhere! It's part of the fun.

I love this series. Could you possibly write one more, when Gimli returns home a hero (yet still his mother's son)?

Author Reply: Thank you for the kind words! I was suffering a bit of writer's block and put out a call for drabble requests; these three were among the results. I've already received requests for at least one more, so it's very likely that we'll see Gimli's reunion with his mom.

I’d happily share, from my mother, on behalf of yours.

That's incredibly generous. :D

Author Reply: Thank you! I enjoyed having the opportunity to write a relaxed moment between these two seemingly gruff warriors.

Are you familiar with Edoraslass's story, "Under My Wing", about the adventures of little Boromir and Faramir and their Nanny? This drabble was actually inspired by Chapter 48, "A Thankless Task", in which young Boromir refuses to learn the proper care of his clothing and equipment. He certainly had an opportunity to rue that day!

Hehehehe.....what a clever idea...Gimli and his momma! Cute!!! and of course she'd make sure he had warm socks and clean underwear...and a toothbrush.....

Author Reply: Yes, it's probably a good thing she wasn't in charge of his packing for the trip. Thanks for reading and commenting!
