| I love these letters! They are so sweet and friendly. And Sam's spelling is certainly improving. So sweet of Frodo to compliment him on that and confiding his fears of being in the water again and Sam assuring him he'll do fine and signing one of his letters Your Samwise. Brothers already! | These are so cute! I love the time-frame you have chosen to explore, the year after Frodo went to live with Bilbo, and Pippin being a new baby, and little Merry. Frodo's letters are so gentle and interested in Sam, and I love Sam's efforts to improve his spelling. Adorable. Author Reply: Thanks! | I am sure that Sam is right about trusting Frodo more than Merry. Bilbo has been a good influence, not to mention Sam himself. | Our Sam is up a tree? Now that's as unexpected to me as him wanting to swim with Frodo! Nice learning of his spelling as he goes along. Author Reply: Yes, Sam is up a tree... we will see where that's headed. I think Sam would have said he'd go swim with Frodo.... until he got to the water, that is. Lol! | What is srange, is that, in all the story's , the people that go on these adventures, don't seem to plan them. But, I supose that is Merry for you, he hass just got to have all his things in order, planed, and werking like a littlle grane mill. Yes that is Merry - he even had the beginning of the quest all planned out! It was a shame that it wouldn't stay all nice and controlled! Oh well, then it wouldn't have made a story worth the telling! Lots of fun! Well done both of you. Author Reply: Indeed! Eleon pulled that out in this letter, and I hadn't even realized it before! | Sweet letters between these two! Like the spelling errors - something very sweet about that and that they are corresponding and the warmth and friendliness in Frodo's letters and the words of 'wisdom' (not quite) that Sam quotes. I can very easily believe he had heard those around him and that's a shame actually because he would absorb everything like a sponge at that age, but he's also absorbing Frodo's love to and Frodo is absorbing his.
