| After reading (and begin completely delighted by) "Mother and Son," I decided to find your other stories and give them a try. This story shows a promising start - you should continue it. You're best at relationships between the adult characters, so I hope that you make those the focus of this story. The one thing I could complain about is that you've made Eldarion much too old for a three year old - in my experience, three year olds are still pretty messy eaters, and I don't think he should have attended a dinner that non-family/close friends also attended. I do like that you have him calling Aragorn "Ada" though - since Aragorn was raised mostly by elves, and Arwen was raised as an elf, I like that their son calls his father by an elvish name. Keep up your good work! Author Reply: Another lovely review! Thank you so much. I do like to look at the relationships between characters and see the more human side of them. I had to set it aside for a while but I’m working on the next chapter now. As for Eldarion, I did want him to be slightly more advanced at this stage than an ordinary child because of his elvish blood, but I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t know much about children so I’ll take any suggestions. He’s really only in it because I wanted to look at the different aspects of Aragorn’s life at this time. As for the ‘Ada’ thing, I guess I just thought it made more sense... Thanks again!:) | |
