Four of a Kind  by Grey Wonderer 12 Review(s)
GamgeeFestReviewed Chapter: 4 on 6/24/2007
Awwww! What a lovely little scene. So typical of a kid to think he's the source of the problem, and I love that your Gaffer is so patient and explained things so that Sam could figure it out on his own. Marigold was a sweetie, and just a typical sister and girl! You're getting much better at writing Sam too! I could just see him doing something like this, and his observation that he needs to work better at how to talk to girls, without anyone telling him he needs to. Very well done, GW!

Author Reply: I am so relieved that you enjoyed Sam in this one. It always makes me feel better when I write Sam if you like it. I consider you to be my 'Sam' expert you know. This idea just came to me and Sam's part of it all came to me first. I have one for each hobbit but for some reason this one stood out and I had to write it. Thank you for the lovely review!

"But there’s too many of us,” Sam said his voice shaking with emotion.

“Why your mum and me would’a had a whole bunch more ‘o you little rascals if we’d thought to do it sooner. As it is some days there just aren’t enough ‘o you.” He chuckled and ruffled Sam’s hair.

This is absolutely lovely, GW. What a practical, loving, wonderful family you've shown us.

Author Reply: Thank you. I don't often write Sam but for some odd reason he keeps turning up lately. Tomorrow night I will post Frodo's chapter. I have them all four written because they insisted, but Sam's came to me first this time. I'm very glad you enjoyed it.
