Yet he remembered with a pang of guilt how he too had driven them nearly beyond endurance, driving them not by whips but by the lash of their fear and love for Frodo. Oh my, what a burden of guilt for Aragorn! This is a marvelous chapter, Dreamflower. Author Reply: Yes, I think he would have felt very guilty over having driven them so hard, even though it was necessary. And it seemed to me an apt contrast, between being driven by force, and being driven by love. | |
