I am loving this story . It has all my favorite things! Adventure , love, swashbuckling, humor, and a touch of angry elf warrior. I can hardly wait for an update!

I'd merely not thought of lower Mirkwood now being East Lorien for some reason. I'm afraid I always paid more attention to the division of Men's lands than of the way Mirkwood was reconstituted after Dol Guldur was cast down.

So glad Legolas is recovering so well and that Gimli wasn't hurt too terribly seriously.

Author Reply: The A/N was directed towards a few reviewers on another archive. :-) Like I said, I forget sometimes that I have a few movie-folk as reviewers. But, really, Tolkien's works are so vast and so detailed, and he contradicted himself fairly frequently as well, that the vast majority of aren't able to keep up with all of it. The only reason I usually manage to do a passable job at it is that I check before I write. Usually. I'm still embarassed that I forgot about Beorn and the Woodmen.

Legolas usually bounces back pretty well, but he's not totally healed yet. The situation was an opportunity to write Haldir again, though, and I enjoy him almost as much as I enjoy writing Thranduil. But, I have to say that writing Gimli is the most fun right now. I just love that curmudgeon of a dwarf!

By the way, I'm reading 'Second Mum'. Great story!!

Aw! The elven king holding the baby, that melted my heart!

Finally finding some time for fanfic reading and I ran across this. It is great. You do the banter between Gimli and Legolas very well. I enjoyed Legolas's cluelessness when it comes to infants and Gimli's ease with her. I loved Legolas's contribution with the doe. The fight was very well done. But my favorite part was Thranduil. You always capture him very well and this is no exception. I am greatly looking forward to more!

That is one very impressive appearance by the Woodland King!

And you'd better not hurt Legolas's favourite dwarf - he clearly doesn't respond very well to harm being done to him.

Good thing Haldir and his brothers turned up when they did - although I daresay a battle-frenzied Legolas might have managed to polish off the remaining attackers on his own, he might then have bled to death before he returned to himself.

At least the travellers should be safe now.

The suspense is killing me! You truly do have a way with words!

I loved the adorable-ness in the early chapters, and now I love the suspense! My one complaint? The usual- no fair leaving us at a cliffhanger!
Thank you for sharing your writing with us.

Ah! How could you stop it there?!(The torture of waiting),the part with Haldir and Legolas was so good, althou I feel sorry for Gimli he's gonna have a terrible headache!

Oh, so they have found Thranduil! Wonderful!

Now, what were Haldir and his brothers doing in Mirkwood? And is it the head wound or a poison on the blades used against him that led Legolas to his madness of vision?

Author Reply: It's the border of East Lorien and the Greenwood, so Celeborn's authority and Thranduil's kind of overlap there. :-)

It's neither the head wound nor poison, it's the fact that he believes that Gimli has been killed.

Thanks!!

Author Reply: Also, Thranduil's actually BS-ing a bit since he's technically out of his territory.

I'm so excited that you posted this so quickly! I was just hoping to get another chapter within the next day or two! :) Remind me to never never ever make Legolas think Gimli's dead... hoooooleee cow! Pissed off elf is a scary sight to behold!

And it's Haldir to the rescue! But why the Lorien Marchwarden in Mirkwood? Not that I object, mind you, but it just seemed odd to me. Unless I missed something in an earlier chapter. And the The King Himself comes to the humans... and leave it to Raife and Abrum to incur his "wrath" as it were! Yikes! Now all I need to see (after Leggy and Gimli are healed up) is King Thrandruil holding the baby and I'll be good to go for weeks! LOL

Author Reply: They are actually on the border between East Lorien and the Greenwood, so Celeborn's and Thranduil's authority sort of overlap there.

Personally, I think Thranduil's going to be a whole lot more pissed off at Restor. ;-)
