Ah, I'd been wondering if Bilbur might have been female! Heh! Glad I was right!

You are delighting in evil cliffhangers, aren't you? Heh! Now--what has happened to Bilbur?

Now THERE'S a declaration to stop Farin in his prejudices! Heh! That Elf-witch IS the mother to the wife of Elrond of Rivendell, after all!

And I'd never considered that they might have misidentified the terror that dwells in Moria as a Dragon. Yes, it makes sense, even though WE know it's not.

Excellent--a group to precede Balin's company.

I've really enjoyed this story! You really showed us Estel beginning to grow into the man that we'll know as Aragorn, and I love how you handle the twins. And the dwarves are such three-dimensional, likable characters as well. Thanks so much for sharing it!

Author Reply: Thank you for reviewing this. The twins are my favourite characters, so I find them easy to write, but I'm glad you find the dwarves came across well. I haven't written about dwarves much before - but I think Bilbur will have to reappear one day.

And not enough experience to recognize a balrog when he sees it! They need to hurry indeed!

Just what they need--more orcs! But if these somehow manage to clear the way and then get tidily killed....

Indeed, an excellent means of explaining all the dead orcs at that particular intersection--we KNOW they tend to hate one another!

Now--can they get Estel and Elrohir out the way Elladan got in?

LarnerReviewed Chapter: 3 on 5/2/2009
Evil cliffhanger! Evil cliffhanger--or in this case, cliff-dropper!

Good use of tension.

LarnerReviewed Chapter: 2 on 5/2/2009
Oops! Poor Estel--cornered by orcs! But there are two Elven brothers nearby who are likely to interfere with the "fun" of these two orcs!

Love the detail!

Bats leaving Moria at dawn would indeed be ominous.
