A momentous ending, trembling with the future, but earned by the past. Great story, Jay. I'm sorry it's done.

Author Reply: Thanks, Daw. I didn't think there was much point in going past this point and writing about the meeting with Arwen - it's been done before, and by a far better author! But now I need to decide which story to start next - I have several ideas :>)

Very nice ending indeed. I have decided not to leave this tale behind - I'm going to print it out and read it 'whole' and just relish the joy, horror, love and friendship contained within.

Very very nice job!

Author Reply: Thanks Agape! I hope you enjoy reading this over again, and that it's as good the second time around :)

Excellent ending and a perfect set up for the meeting with arwen. Very well done!

Author Reply: Thank you! As I said to Daw, I wanted to set the scene for the meeting with Arwen, but not write it myself. Tolkien's already done that!

Ha!Ha! Very good ending Jay! and it was a good, good tale and much enjoyed even if it took awhile to read it. LOL!. Hugs The Imp

Author Reply: Thank you for reading and enjoying this. It took a while to read it? I can't believe how long it took to *write* - just over three years!

Whoops almost have a war between dwarves and elves there, I do like Bilbur's idea on who to have as envoy between the two places.

Author Reply: It's odd - when Bilbur first appeared I had no idea she was female, nor that I'd come to like her so much. I hope Rúmon will learn from his new post as envoy ...

Ah--excellent! The Elf found reason to get out of Dodge for a time, and the brothers are finally home, apparently safe. And they still do not know they sensed a Balrog! And to use THAT particular epithet there was most ironic, of course.

Now, to find what Gilraen thinks when she hears the tale....

Author Reply: I had to keep reminding myself that the Fellowship didn't know about the Balrog, so the twins and Estel couldn't discover it. Even Glorfindel didn't work it out ...

At least they are now out, and are not being pursued. The marchwardens aren't being particularly politic, however. Haldir was unutterably rude!

Poor Nain! I was afraid such a thing might have happened!

LarnerReviewed Chapter: 11 on 5/4/2009
And still another evil cliffie? Ooh! Now, to learn how Elladan survived this--with Nain, I hope!

Ah--well done, and worthy of Dwalin's son!
