Lazing on A Sunny Afternoon  by Jay of Lasgalen 14 Review(s)

Oh, I love how the twins refer to each other as 'El'. It's so sweet! I like how believable you've made them, from the childish train of thought which keeps skipping about to the speech patterns and change of moods that occur so often in children.
Well done, keep writing! x

Author Reply: My twins have always referred to one another as El - it's one of the things that makes it so difficult to tell them apart! I like to write them like this - happy and carefree, and Celebrķan joining in their games.

It's not so easy for Celebrķan to find time to herself, being the Lady of Imladris and mother to two little whirlwinds on legs, isn't it?
Elladan being so upset for not finding his twin and even crying shows once again the strong bond the twins shared even as little elflings. Although I had to grin about his indignation to discover Elrohir was enjoying himself without him and even laughing. Well, this time it was Elrohir who got to do something *he* loved, although he had given in to Elladan at first.

Belated Happy Easter, Jay!

Author Reply: Celebrķan will get the time to herself another day - perhaps when the twins are safely occupied at the stables. For now, they'll have a laughter-filled afternoon that they'll remember for a long time.

The twins are very young here (I haven't worked out how old), and Elladan expects to be able to find Elrohir easily. When he can't, he worries.

Hope you had a good Easter.

What Daw said.

Very nice little story. Thank you.

Author Reply: This was a nice piece of fluff to write. The next story I'm planning will be much more angsty.

Ah. I remember that longing for solitude, particularly to read. If I was cleaning or something, my son thought I was busy, but if I was just sitting with a book, from his POV, I was fair game. And now I wish I'd played more often. The books are still there, but he's all grown up.

This was a sweet story, Jay.

Author Reply: I still enjoy that solitude, but it's easier to come by now! You're right, they do grow up fast.

Celebrķan and the twins will all remember times like this for a long, long time.
