Regret  by Misty 19 Review(s)
LarnerReviewed Chapter: 3 on 4/7/2006
It does sound as if there is a cousin here who was close to Aragorn, and for whose family he cares.

Very solemn feel here.

Author Reply: Thank you, I felt that their ritual at the grave would be a very solemn affair, and the tone should stay throughout the chapter. You'll find more about Bregor in the next chapter.

I read the first chapter and didn't want to leave a review because while reading it, I had a strange feeling that it was leading to another woman! And of course being an Aragorn/Arwen fan, I did not want to persue this story. So I wanted to ignore this story..BUT!!... my curiosity got the best of me and the suspense was killing me and I had to go on!

I knew it! There has to be a very good explanation! Elrond does know about it! AARRGGHHH!!! I am hooked! What happened??? Will be waiting for the next posting! ARagorn will be awfully angry at Legolas when he finds out he has been following him!

Author Reply: Well, I had the feeling chapter two might chase off a few people. But I'll just say this. The original title of this story was 'Things are not always as they seem'. I changed it to Regret because I thought it fit the story better. I'm glad you're curious enough to continue. I really don't think you'll be disappointed. The next chapter is up, and I'd love to hear what you think about it.

Hello Misty,

'Tis the first time I've read one of your fiction stories and I can only say"Wow!". Who would expect this of Aragorn? Well, at least Legolas has his head cool. I understand what you said about the timing. I anticipate the next chapter with excitement but with the patience of an elf. Well, that is why I consider myself an elf.

Until later,
Nayru.

Author Reply: Hi, I try to post updates fairly quickly, so you can go check out the next chapter and let me know what you think of the newest clues in the puzzle.

I must admit that when I read the last chapter, I thought of a lot of possible things that Aragorn might not have wanted to share with Legolas, but this isn't one of them.

I can't wait to find out what's really going on here. Somehow, I don't think tht Aragorn would have concealed the child from his family, even if his relationship with the woman did not work out. So maybe it's the woman who wants to keep it secret? Just guessing.

Author Reply: I try not to do the expected in my stories. I'd like to hear what your guesses are after the next chapter.

This is intriguing. So many possibilities...

A hidden sister? A cousin? I myself cannot imagine Aragorn having a tryst with any one other than Arwen, much less leaving it lie this way.

Author Reply: Well, chapter three should provide another small clue to what is going on. ;-)

I would love to see more of this story!

Author Reply: More of the story coming up!

So, Elrond is aware, is he? Wonderful, then. And Legolas WILL find out in spite of Aragorn. Interesting situation.

Author Reply: I'm not sure if Elrond truly knows the full story, but he does at least know part of it. And yes, Legolas will find out the full story before the end.

I like the start to the story. It has the right amount of intrigue. But what really caught my attention was the interaction between Legolas and Aragorn. I liked that they could have a disagreement and even said some harsh words. Not many stories out there show their friendship realistically. Either they are always in agreement with no agrueing or they hate each others guts.

I am eagerly awaiting the next chapter.

Thank you for sharing your gift.

Robin

Author Reply: Thanks, most friends do have occasional tensions, and that would be true for even friends as close as Aragorn and Legolas, so this story does show that a little bit. I'm glad you like it.
