Ada Knows Best  by Misty 17 Review(s)

I really like resourceful Estel here. He's proving that he's capable of planning and plotting a rescue attempt single handed, and has even managed to warn his brothers.

So why do I think something will go wrong, and that he'll need that antidote?

Author Reply: I liked writing Estel as someone who could use what he has been taught in order to do what must be done, even as he's scared to death to do it.

As for the antidote...well, no healer worth his salt would make up a poison to be used in the manner he's planning without making up the antidote as well, just in case.

A good thing the other son of Elrond is on his way, isn't it?

An interesting description of their predicamate.

Author Reply: Yes, the twins could definitely use some help at this point. Getting out on their own isn't looking that promising, is it?

*Sigh* I knew the twins were in trouble. Which one is in the worst condition - Elladan with a head injury and concussion, or Elrohir with a leg injury and unable to walk?

I like their mutual worry over each other.

Jay

Author Reply: Well, is this living up to the promise of twin angst? *g* They're both in pretty bad shape, but of course, they are each more concerned over the other.

To recognize the dead Elf must have been terrible, and the implications are certainly worse, to think of Elladan, Elrohir, and the other two in the hands of the orcs. Hopefully he will find them soon.

And I do think Elrond made the best decision.

Author Reply: Yes, Elrond really had to fight his fatherly instincts to make the decision not to go after Estel, but he knew he had to let him grow up sometime. Though I'm thinking that at this point, Estel wished he had listened to his father and stayed home. He is realizing just how out of his depth he is in this set of circumstances.

Well, I was right about disaster befalling him. The trouble is, even bigger disaster has befallen the twins :(

Does this mean twin angst? Lots and lots of twin angst? I do hope so!

Jay

Author Reply: Well, there will be twin angst... *eg* You're right about the twins being in more trouble right now than Estel. This time, they won't be able to protect him and keep him out of trouble. So what will he do next? You'll just have to wait and see.

Why do I get the feeling that some disaster is about to befall him? I hope the twins are on hand!

Great start.

Jay

Author Reply: Well, your feeling is quite correct, disaster is looming on the horizon. But disaster for whom? *eg*

Thanks.

The young do this SO often--try to sneak out unobserved.

Author Reply: Yes, Estel will soon discover why his actions might not have been his best idea.
