And Time Remembered  by lwarren 14 Review(s)

Yes, they will know that brotherhood once more, when the time is right for it. Sooner, possibly, for Aragorn than for Legolas, who is yet caught in time while the bounds of Arda remain.

Author Reply: Yes, Legolas has a long time to wait to see his friend again - but at least he has that hope to hang on to. I just couldn't see Iluvatar keeping the two kindreds apart, once the end of Arda was accomplished. Thank you so much for reviewing, Larner.

A lovely, lovely story! It encompasses what Legolas and Aragorn surely must have meant to each other when Legolas stayed in Middle Earth for love of the Lord of the White Tree. Thank you.

Author Reply: Why, thank you so much! That means a lot to me that the strong bond of friendship I believe these two had came across adequately in the story. And I believe, too, that all will be reunited at the end of all things. Thank you very much for taking the time to review, Maid of Ithilien. :-)

I have to believe that when Arda ended, all the races were reunited in the circles beyond the world. Surely Eru was too kind for it to turn out otherwise.

Author Reply: You and me both, daw. If not, then it goes against all I've ever believed about Eru as the 'Father'. But then, that's just me wanting a happy ending for all concerned! :-) Thank you so much for taking the time to review.

I know in your eyes we had such a short time…I could see you measuring the days sometimes and it hurt me to see you caught up in such a human preoccupation.

Reclaim your joy in the forest. Learn all the new songs that the Blessed Realm has to offer – and sing a new song of your own.

This is utterly beautiful, and oh so poignant and loving.

Author Reply: Thank you, shirebound. I suppose as Aragorn aged, Legolas would begin to take note more and more of time's passage. I am such a sucker for a happy ending though, and a best friend-brother would want Legolas to reclaim all he had lost during those years he stayed 'for the love of the Lord of the White Tree.' I am so glad the loving friendship between the two showed forth! I got the title from that poem that says it so well..."and time remembered is grief forgotten". I wanted Legolas to forget his grief (or some of it) in remembering his friend. Thank you so much for taking the time to review!
