Love the toast and am impressed by the rhyming pattern! Very nicely stated! Have done so few poems, and find they don't always go where I wish them to go. Thanks so for this lovely tribute to Brandy Hall and our beloved Meriadoc the Magnificent! Elanor would love this, I think.

This is marvelously constructed, as your poetry always is! I love structured poetry, and in this, the imagery is just perfect! There were ships going forth from the Havens, Filled with those weighted down and bent, Each bow in the waves a release of the stays, Each sea-wind a breath heaven-sent. The metaphor there is just right, and I could imagine the weary voyagers reviving as they sailed.

You think that Cirdan himself at the last chose not to sail, remained here in Middle Earth to fade but keep somewhat alive the memories? The cadences and rhyme schemes I am certain would have delighted the Master himself.

So true the rambling of thoughts, come full circle again and again, with the plaintive worry for the others, and the worry as to where Merry has got to in the midst of these last days....

Save the serpent is about to be illumnated by the Heart of Fire, new come. Saruman wrought well, but the light of Day itself shows the trick of it.

The trees and the stones will remember. How wonderful a weaving of text into this poetry!

This most beautiful and unusual and needed of friendships, of two peoples who will fade into obscurity as the time of Men at last comes.
