This is such a wonderful idea to let Frodo and Sam revisit some of the places on the Quest only during happier circumstances.I am enjoying this very much and am thrilled to learn there will be plenty of Aragorn !

This chapter had perfect chemistry... a wonderful mix of lightheartedness but also a darker element running through it. I loved the part about Shadowfax getting to drink first! And of course, Gimli's "revenge"---wow, Shirebound gets rather grisly there! :) I love it!

But my favorite was seeing the fallen king sculpture restored again. What an emotional scene.

“It was your turn, Frodo,” Merry said, trying quickly to lighten his cousin’s mood. “The wights took all our clothes in that barrow, but not yours. It’s only fair that you ended up a bit bare also.”
lol i actually smiled broadly at that... nice reference to the wights~
This is a very interesting story so far~ not only does Frodo want healing through learning about what actually happened, but i think Sam would feel nervous and somewhat frightened to relive this again... will we get a Sam-ish chapter soon? I would love to read about what he thinks of all this.

It's nice to see the Fellowship together. :)

Can't wait for more, Janet! =)

I've been watching for this one, and I'm so glad to finally see it up! Frodo is certainly doing a wonderful job hiding whatever fear he has-and he must have some. I can't help thinking, though, that it's only a matter of time, and that maybe the tower is going to hold more horror for Sam than for Frodo. Can't wait to read more!!! God bless,
Galadriel

"Their eyes shining, Frodo and Sam looked up. There before them was the huge, sitting figure they had seen more than two months earlier -- despoiled no longer. The crude Orc-markings had been scoured away, and the noble, bearded head – still crowned with flowers – had been re-set on massive shoulders."

Brilliant! What a sight for Frodo and Sam to behold and a sure sign that the Cross-Roads are no longer under the spell of the Dark Lord.

On the other hand it's frightening to imagine what Gimli and his companions will find at Cirith Ungol! And if the Dwarf happens to discover what is left of Snaga, I've no doubt he will do what he must.

I love the way this is developing. It seems so likely that Frodo would challenge himself to go back and see the place he nearly died. And that everyone would go with him to see that he is all right. Making sure there is a complete absence of orc corpses seems the best plan of all, though!

Excelent chapter. There was so much here, and so much of it very subtle.

I like the way Frodo senses how different things are at the crossroads. That whole scene was great. Pippin asking hesitantly about Frodo's clothes, and Merry being so much the hobbit and turning the conversation into something lighter.

Pippin thinking about Denethor's pyre was unsettling. I'm a little concerned for my favorite little knight of Gondor.

Gimlie really wants to do everything he can to protect the hobbits. Sweet Gimli.

I loved it that you had Merry and Pippin help in the planning and that it is so obvious that they wanted to plan it so that things were the easiest they could be for Frodo.

Keep up the great work.

GT.

I really like the atmosphere of caring that you have created around Frodo. It is *so* what the Fellowship is truly about!

I enjoyed Merry's little comment about the Barrow-wight, and I felt for Pippin, as he thought of Denethor's pyre; most of all I loved Frodo's marvel at what a difference has been made--and I hope that somewhere along the way, he can be made to see that *he* has the credit for making that difference.

And Gimli? Yes, that's *definitely* in character for Gimli!

Oh I am so glad that Frodo got to see the king with his head back in the right place. I always found that scene very touching and was glad it made it to the movie too. Very practical Aragorn - decaying dead orcs! YUCK!

Another strong detailed chapter. I love the way the Fellowship has reformed to support Frodo on a Quest - and resolve unfinished business.

So Gimli needs to have a hand in some personal payback, eh? You write the love and care of Frodo's friends so well.
