Your Heart Will Be True  by Write Sisters 165 Review(s)
SioReviewed Chapter: 1 on 1/9/2006
WOW, finally, the long awaited story has come! AND what a beginning. Full of mysterious movements by enemy forces (wonderfully evil ones at that) who arent even in full agreement with one another. It will be interesting to watch Halda and see what he does on his own as well as under orders. Nice little drop there about Thorongil - that bodes ill. :D And 'ill' we love!!

Eldarion was charming and funny.

Your descriptions are crystal clear as always, lending a totally three dimensional effect to your stories that drops the reader smack into the middle of the story and wont let them out again. Amazing how reading the first chapter is like walking through the 'wardrobe' only to find yourself coming back out at the 'tbc' and wondering how long you've been gone!

Cant wait to read more!

Siobhan

Author Reply: Sio!! *hugs* Wow, we're so glad you came -- and even more glad that you're liking it! Highest praise, and all that. *grins*

Halda was a bit of a Duurben -- he started out as just another guy to be there and talk to Mavranor and then he sort of expanded of his own volition. To be honest, we were just as interested as you are to see what he'd do... *laughs* Yes, 'ill' we love, and we shall prove it in the pages to come!

*blushes abound at complimetnt on descriptions* Thank you so much! We shall now float around for the rest of the day... *goofy smiles*

Absolutely lovely! You two are excellent writers. Every chapter from you is a delight to read!

And it's wonderful to be meeting old friends again! Hehe, poor, sweet, depressing Bartho... So good to see him again! Hmm, you know, this is a realy good excuse to go back and re-re-re-re-read your stories again to refresh my memories of all these characters... As if I needed amother excuse. *g*

Looking forward to the next chapter!

Imbecamiel

Author Reply: Why, thank you very much! That really makes our day to hear you say that!

And that's the beauty of sequels -- getting to pull your old friends out of moth balls. *grins* 'poor, sweet, depressing Bartho' *cracks up laughing* That's it! That's what he is! We'd better not tell him to his face, though, eh?

Do you really re-read our stuff? Wow! By all means, look them up again! Lots of the character development in Darkest night has a great deal of bearing on this story.

And so it begins. Two old friends leaving the safety of their city, one with a brand new family and one that does not want to get married because of something that happened to him in the past. Great pair! Will they have a safe journey? Those thugs and the Shadow (an assasin?) better not run into them. I am now officially freaking out and worried to boot. Good job guys! If this were a movie I would cover my eyes or walk out of the room afraid of what's going to happen next!!! Such suspense!! AND THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING! Thanks a lot!

Author Reply: So we're definitely making you nervous, then? *both girls high-five* Er... uh, sorry about that... *grin* Don't worry, we've got at least another chapter before anything particularly dreadful happens. In the meantime, thank you so much for your review! It encourages us to great heights of punctual posting. *grins*

Hmm. What's this? Only a handful of paragraphs with Aragorn in them? And no Legolas whatsoever. Tsk, tsk. I expected better from you.

*g*

Bartho and Erynbenn are so much fun when they're together. With one optimistic and one pessimistic, they form a delightful contrast; and your sense of humor means it's decidedly entertaining.

Hm-hm. A traitor. A nervous traitor at that. And the mysterious 'Shadow'. Is the upcoming attack what brings Legolas into it? Or what sends Aragorn wherever it is he goes? Or is it both? Can you tell I want Legolas to show up? lol.

Ah, I'm not tired enough to be silly right now. It's not late enough - only ten o'clock. Hehe. Mm, 6 pgs is decent. 14 is better. Muah. Ha - I started a Christmas fic (not in LOTR) that was supposed to be a oneshot. Well, by the time I got to 30 pages I knew that prospect was well and truly dead. It's more than 50 pages now and not finished yet. I think it's gonna be a five-parter. Alright, there was no point to that. *sigh*

lol. I was looking back over the story to pick out my favorite part (I'm mildly disturbed my favorite part doesn't have anything to do with Aragorn, but you didn't give me much to work with on that point, ya know) and realized, as I didn't when I read it, that the response "Barring fire or robbery, yes" (why would robbery stop him from going to the second circle?) was a clue to who the person was. I'm actually not quite sure why that was amusing to me now that I've shared. Ah, well...

Eh, Erynbenn mentioned Bartho getting married... Arien wouldn't happen to be a potential prospect would she? Just an oddish thought. Unless, of course, it's true. *g* lol. My favorite part is, actually, at the end.

"Ready?" the general asked.

"Yes." The words were carefully light and sardonic. "Let us go where more great and deadly danger awaits us."

"Not to mention rain, if we don't have a spring frost. We're due for it."

"Naturally."

I can just imagine him rolling his eyes or grinning as he said that. It emeplifies their relationship, I think. And now I'm going to tell you my least favorite part... *glares* There's no Legolas and too little Aragorn. *pouts* Is that remedied next chapter? Say yes?

This ended up longer than I thought it would be, but now I must go. My brother wants the internet and I'm obliged to give it to him, working man that he is. Hehe. Oh boy; the Jags are making me so sad. First play-off appearance in five years and they're screwing it up. Damn New England anyway. Pardon my language.

Alas, now I must bid farewell on a dark note. But fear not! I shall eagerly await your next chapter and get to enjoy it in the peace of my dorm, free from demands on the internet. Ta, dears!

lol. Boy do I feel like a nut saying that.... *g*

Author Reply: *laughs* Oh dear, we hadn't even considered the misery of Aragorn-dependent readers when we divided up the chapters! Sorry about that... Glad, at least, that you enjoyed Bartho and Erynbenn in Aragorn's absence. As for Legolas... not too long now. Regretfully, we have one more chapter sans Aragorn as well... *both girls duck out of sight, back to back, behind the desk*

It's amazing how fics just sort of spin out of control like that, isn't it? Darkest Night was the closest we ever got to a 'short' fic, and it turned out at least twice as long as we intended.

Uh-oh, do we have a match-maker in the house? You and Erynbenn are both incorrigible. All we can say is that Arien is single, and Bartho has forever sworn off women. Make of that what you can! *innocent smile*

*grins* Ooh, specifics! We do love specifics! Particularly favorite parts -- glad you liked that ending! And on that note, whatever the the Jags are doing (sorry, no sports knowledge here in Write Sisters land), we bid thee 'ta'!

VilwarinReviewed Chapter: 3 on 1/7/2006
Ah, the acion is about to begin. Assassination, attack? Coming from the north? Oh my gosh! O, who will be the victim? I can hardly wait to know!

The Gondorians are well informed of the southern queens doings, but sadly do not know the meaning of it.

The maze in here would confuse a rabbit.
Hehe, Bartho does only say that because he has no sense of direction, does he? And now he knows Arien.

Erynbenn's little family is quite sweet, I hope we will see more of them.

~Vil

Author Reply: *looks about furtively* Indeed, danger is lurking close... just another chapter or two... or three, or four, who knows...? Mwahaha! *sighs* Yes, the Gondorians are about to be caught unawares.

*grins* Alas, Bartho's sense of direction does tend to break down indoors. We'll see Erynbenn's family again, but not much of them.

Thanks for the review!

Heh. *grins moronically*

You know, I only just checked my mail and found your email. I almost deleted it. I had to look between the subject and the 'sent from' for nearly a minute before it actually clicked. lol.

That said, I'm sorry I missed the first chapter. If I were truly faithful I'd leave two seperate reviews, one for that one and one for this, but it's almost two in the morning right now and I was tired to start with. If I let myself close my eyes, I don't think I'd wake up for at least 12 hours. Sleep deprivation is wonderful for driving and watching children, I tell you. Adds some adventure to the day. (hehe) If I don't make sense, that's why.

Mmm, I love it already, and I haven't had much interest for LOTR since August. *My* monster epic is on hiatus; can't stand to even think about it anymore. I blame it on Cassia and Sio retiring. Very distressing, that. Anyway.

I still love their speech. The dialogue is priceless and I don't even have an adequate way to describe it. Old-fashioned-ish and formal yet jesting and bouncy. lol. Old-fashioned and bouncy, it boggles the mind. And the kiddies! Gilrean... she's the age I've been working with, actually. It's probably sad tha I prefer the two year olds to the five year olds, but the fiver's drive me crazy. I was left to debate strangling them or letting them kill each other. Meh. Off-topic.

I think you managed to mention just about everyone between those two chapters. So, introductions out of the way...when do we get to 'meet' Legolas? Hmm? Just dove right into that evil plot too. Muahahaha. Ah, the intrigue. Is Mavronor's servant dude (who's name currently elludes me) gonna end up a turn coat, help our favored ranger and elf out? I think I'd have a heartattack if you actually told me the answer to that question. The shock, you know. And do you actually believe Eldarion would be such a handful, or is he just more interesting to write that way? I'm gonna make a guess and say it's a little of both. Or a lot.

And I love the banter between Aragorn and Arwen, and Aragorn and Eression. It's just so hilarious. And I can't wait until we get the banter between Aragorn and Legolas because it simply must be there. It's my favoritest part. lol.

Oy.

I think I should go to bed now. I dare not read over what I've written. Is it every-other-day posting? I hope this works. I've never reviewed on storiesofarda before. And...yah. Later!

...Wait. I'm forgetting something. A question I always asked.... It was tradition! What was it?

Longer chapters? Was that it? Hmm...

Anyway, belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, and I'll see you next chpater! Yeeehaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Author Reply: *Sarah and Hannah tackle Maranwe in a massive hug* You came! And you *are* truly faithful -- you're here, and you wrote a wonderful review at two in the morning. What else is needed?

*shakes head consolingly* Yes, we miss them too -- though, to be honest, we sypmathize as well. This is to be our last fic together, unless some sort of monster bunny bites. Glad we managed to draw you back into LOTR!

That is high praise indeed for our dialogue -- mostly because that is exactly what we *wanted*, but we weren't at all sure we were getting it. :) Mavranor's servent dude is Halda, and we shall now spare you from heartattack by assuring you that the crafty blighter's plans are his own and only time will tell what he intends to do. *smiles benignly*

Banter is our favorite stuff to write, which explains why it surfaces so often! Glad you enjoy it!

Yup, it's ever-other-day posting, and our chapters skew towards the long side (actually, anywhere from 6-14 pages this time...). Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too!

LOL! Wonderful, wonderful chapter! Hehe, I laughed so hard my sister gave me odd looks and asked what I was reading... And considering all the wierd stuff we do around each other, it takes a lot to elicit odd looks by now. *g* I especially loved the part about Estel stringing a trip-wire in front of Elrond's door, and Elrond wishing on him a son JUST like him. ROTFL!

Sorry I can't leave a proper review... It's getting REALLY late here and I have to get up early. *yawns*

Imbecamiel

Author Reply: *laughs* We live to bring weird looks to the faces of peoples' siblings! Mwahaha. The trip wire came as a very vivid mental image that demanded to be written -- we can take no credit. *grin*

Love the banter between Aragorn and Arwen---My favorite couple! I like the way Aragorn's broods were introduced "The wide door of the palace swung open with a crash". Wonderfully written. What a wonderful peaceful existence for the Royal Family and Gondor. I'm glad this was written as I have a feeling that the upcoming chapters will be very DARK! I guess the evil queen did not take into account Gimli's dwarves and Legolas' elves. Pippin is a hoot!! I am starting to love your OC's already. I hope you don't kill any of them. Cannot wait for the update!

Author Reply: Glad you enjoyed the happy couple -- we love them too! *smiles cheerily* Ah yes, all is bliss (thanks for the compliment on the royal childrens' entrance!)! Who knows what lies ahead...? *hugs RS* Oh, you make us very happy any time you praise our OCs! We're afraid to admit that there is one character death listed in the rating... *shifts guiltily* ...and it is an OC, but it's only one! We promise!

EEEWWWW!! The Queen Mavroner is PURE EEEVVIILLLL. I was getting nervous just reading her plans to take over Gondor. The dagger that was in display is so profound to me. I wonder what's brewing in Halda's mind. Are his plans going to somehow foil the evil queen's plans?? He has been planning something for years and he sounds as sly as the ol' queen, if not more. I like the end of the chapter.. Brought a smile to my face! One could imagine poor Durbeen's face!! Such a contrast from the beginning of the chapter. I can tell this story is going to be a nail biter! Can't wait.

Author Reply: *grins* Why, yes she is! She would be flattered (and we are flattered) that you noticed! Glad you liked the dagger too; as for Halda: he's a crafty one alright, but his plans are known to no one but himself at this point. *innocent smile* And we shall do our best to live up to nail-biter status. *winks*

I absolutely love the trailer, it is indeed very promising. This is how I became aware of the story in the first place. That was months and months ago... It was three before you began posting that I viewed it again and wondered when the story might appear. Is this not coincidence? *lol*

~Vil

Author Reply: Thank you for the compliment! The trailor was all Hannah's doing, and she did an excellent job indeed (I can say that because I'm her sister). *grin* Our one mistake was in uploading the trailer right after we finished Darkest Night... Believe me, if we'd had any idea how long we would be in finishing this fic, we'd have waited. Either way, I'm glad you were able to re-watch it so recently!
