I particularly enjoyed your characterisation of Rosie, as she tries to understand the incomprehensible perils and horrors endured by Sam and Frodo, for love of them both. You write her as a strong-minded, warm Hobbit-lass, fully worthy of Sam's love.
Author Reply: I think only such a one could have won and kept the heart of one such as Sam Gamgee, and he needed such a one through what he had to look forward to, particularly when he lost Frodo at last.
