| If only Frodo can be enabled to accept this as a natural gift for him, and not something that was brought on by the Ring; if only he could learn to once more be able to take pleasure once more... A very thought-provoking and insightful chapter. Author Reply: The Ring would have taken this natural gift and twisted it as much as it could, heightening the awareness of pain and stifling as much as possible the feedback of contentment which sustained Frodo at Bag End. Learning to deal with it and not allowing it to overwhelm him is where he needs to be now. Thanks so much for the comments. | |
