Dances with Tilion ~ Alassante's Drabbles  by Alassante 52 Review(s)

One grief atop another. And in seeking to regain his honor through murder and forceful retrieval of the Simaril he loses what little he had left.

The curse of Namo was so sweeping, and so devastating.

Now she must weep, bereft of what made life fair for her.

What a great waste of talent and skill beyond compare.

Those who remained behind must have known far too much grief, loss and confusion at the choice of those who followed Feanor's sons eastward into Middle Earth.

Giggling over this one.

*snort* She is mad indeed, but then again ... they are nice elves ;)

Oh wow... I never gave it so much thought on what could have passed through Sam's mind when he holds Frodo on the slopes of Mount Doom like that. Just the icky taste of ashes on your lips and what does your comrade give you.. the visual of sweet and plumb strawberries. Great job Alassante, you captured this moment incredibly well!

Well, here we have the Noldolante... well almost, captured in 200 words... and what a stunning read Alassante! Fëanor's life and demise, the legacy he leaves behind and the utter destruction of such a powerful elven race..

What I especially enjoyed was how you wrote about the creation of the Silmarils. Three seperate 'entities', seducing this master craftsman to create Jewels that caused so much misery. It leaves me wondering if this was the initial purpose of the Jewels to begin with... who knows. :)

Very thought provoking, incredibly well written and paced. To the reader's eye it has an smooth balance, almost poetry!

Before you showed me this wonderful work, I often found myself wondering how a elven mother could sense the death of her children. I had my own theories about it, but to see it written down in the manner I always assumed made me fell silent and grab for tissues. Alassante, this is truly a gut and heart wrenching piece of work you have written here. I almost want to object that she has to suffer so much pain to experience like this. And this is just the beginning... more will pass away *shiver*

Alassante, how can you possible capture this immense pain in just 200 words? Don't answer it, because you did. Her emotions, her physical pain... you capture that extremely well. Fëanor is not longer around to share the anguish with her, so it feels like she gets the double load of it that well. A very emotional piece of work, well balanced and written! Thanks for this!

Its beauty ignites the fire of desire, which surges in my fëa. The ethereal flame seduces me to once again commit the unforgivable assassination of a fellow kinsman.

Celegorm and finding his redemption... too bad that Fëanor's fairest son finds it when his life ebs away... Again, Alassante... hey where did my thoughts wander off to? See, you write this incredible piece featuring Celegorm and I am already at loss for words to relfect my thoughts about it. What can I tell you more...

These 200 words are incredibly thoughtprovoking, every time I re-read it, I find something else that either stirrs a plotbunny or gives me another perspective on the fate of the Noldo. Just one more quote that mirrors your outstanding writing (before I end up citing everything here)?

"Dior, son of the treacherous Beren, displays Nauglamir around his neck boldly and he will pay for his audacity. He faces me and with deadly force I drive my blade deep into his chest. As triumph fills my heart, pain screams through my body and I look down in disbelief at the dark stain spreading quickly across my gut."

In this short piece alone I find myself going from a high (in the sense of: go get him tiger!) to a deep low... Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful Celegorm ficlet... to bad he died ;)
