| I am not into drabbles but this one.... I loved the progression of names -- Fėanor... Melkor... Elves... they encapsualte the history of the Silmarils in concise language fraught with pathos and the weight of tragedy. Elves died for me. Not just Elves, but Men as well. And then you get the arrogant smugness of the Silmaril itself, wondering just how it had ended up where it was. Lo! Seest thou how far the great hath fallen! Masterfully done, Alassantė. | It's been a time since I read this one. Feanor has driven his kindred to kill, and at least Celebrimbor wishes he'd never followed in this path. I see I've now read most if not all of these multiple times, with them drawing me to comment again and again. Author Reply: Thanks so much for your comments. I cannot seem to get away from the Feanorians either lol My love for them as characters to write about just keeps growing and Celebrimbor to me was probably one of the biggest victims in the Silmarillion. | |
