In Shadow Realm  by Legolass 280 Review(s)

I can't believe you wrote this half asleep. I can't write this well fully awake. What a totally chilling chapter. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

The question in my mind is who will help Aragorn and how. The undead cannot have him.

It will take you *quite* a few more chapters to know who can and will -truly- help Aragorn, Tari. :-)

Thanks very much for the review. Maybe I should write more horror stories half-asleep then, lol!

This is the last work day before my vacation. Sitting at my desk eating lunch, I felt the urge to continue reading. The thought of waiting two weeks or more to find out what this "thing or person" is that is calling to Aragorn is going to be hard to do. It is down right creepy, chilling, spooky. This is turning into an excellent mystery.

Lol! Tari - curiousity may not kill you, but it may certainly have 'lengthened' your lunch hour if you had kept reading! Well, did it? :-D

You will of course be already on your way to your vacation destination - so this may reach your email after you get back. I hope you had a great time, and I hope to hear from you again soon after your return. Thanks much for this review.

While I am glad that they showed mercy to the villagers, I did get a kick out of Gimli and freinds singing act. Glad that Aragorn has Legolas, as someone who he can talk to, and help him. loved your story, and hope to see more. Sorry this review took so long, I needed a holiday to catch up on things.

Hi grumpy,

Underneath all your amusing reviews, you really do love the depth of emotions behind the story's events and characters, don't you? :-) I shall miss reading them - thank you for all your support. Hope to see you again when(ever) a new story comes up.

Take care till then!

Did that blank one go through? I don't know what I was thinking {Shakes head sadly}

Anyway on with the review! What a wonderful ending to the story I really loved it. You write so beautifully and express your idea's so well- I know how hard that is to do. I very much enjoy reading your stories and look forward to each chapter.

I love your idea about the Glass pool for our hero's. You really get the closeness of their friendship down very well and yet express the love for the others in their lives as well.

My favorite part in this chapter has to be when they arrived at the Glass pool and Aragorn said:

"For those dark, dark hours, my friend – who knows how many? – you were all I held on to, all that I believed in - indeed, all that I knew,” Aragorn said. “I escaped a fate worse than death only because you were there, and you knocked at the door of my soul till I answered, even as you promised you would. Ever shall that door be unlocked for you, Legolas.”

What a heart melter and my favorite line in the chapter.

Well I didn't notice anything this time, perhaps I wasn't looking hard enough?

Hi Tiari,

Yes I did get a blank review - but I have deleted it so you don't have to shake your head sadly anymore. :-)

Thanks for your kind words. I'm glad the chapter ends the story well for you. I love writing about their friendship and am heartened when someone else appreciates it just as much.

Hope to see you again some time; your company is always welcome!

Thank you merci beaucoup danke schoen schukran for this final (*sigh*) beautiful and after all the heartache much needed chapter. And above all, many thanks for the (totally undeserved, but much appreciated) dedication! I love Hamille's bonding, he so totally deserves that kind of happiness.
*ow!*
Legolas' embarrassment at the question of his own wedding was that hilarious, LOL!! The entire female population of the Greenwood and half the maidens in Gondor, ha! He's really rather innocently blind (blindly innocent?) in some respects.
*ouch!*
Fierthwain's final fate appeals a lot to some of my lower instincts, I must admit. Somehow I'd never pictured him going to execution, but Gimli's revenge is so, so sweet - let me join in that particular tune about war and victory :-)! Putting him to some useful labour in Ithilien seems a very good idea, although I'm not sure that will cure him of his stupidity. Perhaps Gimli's songs will hammer some sense into him, LOL!
*ow!* (That's the Hamille fan-club, throwing acorns at me. I'm not QUITE sure if they want to feed me or chase me up a tree...) :-D
With "Shadow Realm" you have created an exceptionally beautiful part of Arda again. I really don't know which I like better, "White Tree" or "Shadow Realm", they are quite different and brilliant and I enjoyed them both immensely, I really can't say, but I do so love your style of writing.
Nononononono I won't say it will you no I won't! I won't ask ifyou'regoingtowriteanotherstorysoon - there now I did it anyway, but never mind! Let's keep in touch all the same; I will send you a mail before I start off into the wild again ;-) !
And, welcome back home; that must be an awful jet lag to sleep off. I hope you find the time to do it at leisure, you deserve all the rest you can get!

HUGS

My favorite furry friend:

I happened to be online when this came in, so I'd better get in a reply before I lose you to the wilds again (although that's not till August if I remember correctly).

I would offer you plaster and ointment for the many acorns thrown at you, but the reactions to Hamille's bonding have been positive so far - so I guess they aim to feed you. :-) However, I can't be certain that some readers aren't silently plotting to cement you in while you hibernate...

It's okay that you have asked ifi'mgoingtowriteanotherstorysoon. All it takes is for me to answer IwillwriteoneassoonasIcanwhichmaynotbeanytimenextweekorevennextmonthbutI'llgetaroundtoiteventually.

There. Answered. :-)

I did sleep off much of the jet lag, but am off again to another work retreat tomorrow, sigh... Can I borrow your nest to hide in??

Yes please, let's keep in touch. I shall miss you when you go off again, but I hope you will check in from time to time - especially if I manage to start another tale. :-) Thank you very much for your continuous support on this one!

Take care always. Warm hugs, dear rodent.

THis has been a great story and I am sorry it is over.I liked the way you showed it took Aragorn a long time to recover, which was very realistic. I love your Aragorn and you make Legolas far more interesting than I usually find him. I'm also pleased you have included Arwen, Faramir and Eldarion. Aragorn's lesson is one we could all too well to heed. Thank you for a most enjoyable story.

It's been a great pleasure having your company throughout the tale as well, Linda, and as I've said before, the approval of an Aragorn lover such as yourself means a lot to me. :-) Thanks for always being there, and hope to see you again some time.

wonderful ending Legolass and yet I didn't want to review. I think I'm reverting back to a 3 year old covering my eyes thinking if I can't see the monsters, they won't see me. Maybe if I don't review, the story won't end. I guess I'm feeling melancholy. Happy to see Hamille married but feeling like I'm losing a friend and as always moved by the depth of feelings you give our favorite heroes. Ah maybe that's what great writers do, make you feel things through their stories.

Well done Legolass

Enjoy California

Mae govannen mellon nin,

I just got home an hour and a half ago (it was a nice break, thank you), and I need to sleep off the jet lag from a 20-hour journey (the journey TO Quebec took 26) - but I wanted to say hi to you first, and to tell you that I am SO sorry I didn't have time to call you while I was in the States. :-( But I will try to do from here some time - is that ironic or what? :-D

I know what you mean by 'losing' a friend because of Hamille's bonding - it's as if he now belongs to another world. (But I will make sure we don't lose him.) And I also understand the melancholy you feel at the end of the story - I actually feel the same way. It's been a wonderful journey, and I thank for staying with me throughout, Eliza. For my own sake as well as yours, I hope I come up with another story soon. I think it's the only way I can keep sane. In the meantime, let's keep in touch anyway.

Till our next monthly chat.
Hugs

Thanks very much for your constant support throughout this tale, Elflingimp, and I hope Jacob won't have grown to be a teenager by the time I post another! :-) May your bundle of joy continue to remind you of Estel - keep him and Legolas alive in your heart always.
