Battle of the Golden Wood  by Marnie 84 Review(s)

A whole new problem!? You've got that right. Wow, that ring dropping out of the cloak was unexpected, to say the least. It shouldn't have been, but it was.

"It seemed right to him to take this token in memory of his father, of his slain people, and to bear it in the knowledge that vengeance was sure."

Echoes of Isildur, there.

"It is mine! It came to me!"

And Gollum

And oh, my stars, that last line! Haunting, chilling.

Ok, that is not the potential harm I saw for Oswy!!!! But what a plot twist!

I suppose the ring is still active as long as the One Ring exists. Oh, how mangificent Celeborn was, and his answer to Oswy is just wrenching. Now, why did you leave it here!!?? What did Oswy say? WAs he able to see reason? What is Celeborn to do with the ring?

I love Celeborn's answer to the wraith - he is a mighty warrior and cool and sees things very clearly.

Oh my LORD, Marnie.... WHAT a chapter!!!!

"very minor Orc" indeed.... hah!! Take THAT, dol-guldur-breath!!! :-)

Wow. Celeborn kicks serious butt... and Oswy don't do half bad either.... poor kid. I KNOW it was the evil of the Ulairi and its Ring that made him the way he was... disbelieving an Elf, snarling in anger... fortunately Celeborn knows that too, and the last line was positively chilling!!!

What an absolutely brilliant chapter. VERY well done!

And I feel Haldir's pain... I hate being left behind too. :-)

Thanks for a fantastic read!!
