Love the toffees. Sounds like one of the plans for portraying Gandalf in the movie. I can see Merry back there with all the wrappers. Author Reply: Thank you. And yes. I can see that too. Poor Merry, eating too many toffees, lol.

Waiting for more of this one as well. Good gap filler. Author Reply: Thank you. More is coming.

O such a lovely treat! There are lots of things I want to comment on but I'm pulled away. I hope I can get back and chew on this one a little longer, it's very tasty! Thanks. Author Reply: Oh, thank you. The treat will be here waiting for you so come back anytime you like :)

Very good! You don't see many stories focusing on Merry and Sam, but I really liked this one. =) Author Reply: Thank you! I think Sam and Merry`s relationship are too little explored and they do have more in common than I suppose both of them realise.

O hurrah! A *most* promising beginning! I hardly know where to start, there are so many lovely bits that caught my eye. Merry with a bucket of ale! *g* (and I can see him dipping some smaller container into it as he works his way through the whole) The Rider who reminds him of Pippin! (the sudden changes of topic, hehe) The Riders never having imagined a different calendar, and Merry's casual thought that he ought to write down the differing calendars some day... and his regaling the Riders with Shire customs. Gandalf's appearance, and the ensuring conversation. And Merry being tired... (of course!) And tomorrow is Sam's birthday. O I do hope you keep working on this and post more soon. Author Reply: Thank you! A new chapter is up now. I think both the riders and Merry find eachother curious about the others customs and having a totally different set of reckoning things are a large difference. And yes, Poor Sam not getting to celebrate his birthday. Gandalf knows Merry all to well I think, watching out for him as he watches over the others as I explain in what looks to be a prequel to this actually - the chapter Pippin of Cousins on watch.
