Elrond AKA Huan? I love it! And Estel's 'Song of the Northern Men' made me laugh out loud, it was so unexpected! The image of Estel langui - being sad -under the desk was sweet. A lovely tale. Jay Author Reply: Thanks. I like writing about cute little Estel!

That was delightful, Antigone! I liked Elrond's description of the langui ... langui ... waiting sadly Estel. The same child who could not sit still through breakfast or fifteen minutes of arithmetic was lying without discernable movement under the table, pretending to be half-dead. Estel's northern men song was too funny. Where on earth did the child learn that! The topper of the story is the image of Elrond as Huan. Never in my wildest dreams would I imagine Elrond as a faithful hound. Now, I can't get the idea out of my head. :) Author Reply: Thanks! The lying down thing was something I'd actually seen - so maybe it's funny because it's true. As for the Northern song, I expect Elrond has a lot of visitors, and not all of them will be discreet when they don't realize children are around.

I read this before and was charmed beyond belief! My husband ordinarily won't listen to anything at all about fanfic but even he laughed when I told him about Elrond being Huan. Author Reply: It seemed like a kid-like thing to say - I'm glad it made your husband laugh.

this is lovely! Elrond as a hound :-) I'm glad Elrond decided it was more important to play with Estel while he was still a child rather than working. sounds like a great father to have. Author Reply: I bet it's also nice to _be_ a father who has the luxury of playing with his child rather than working.
