Estel's Birthday  by shirebound 142 Review(s)

Thank you for your hint to "Mind to Mind", but since my time is restricted, I mostly turn to read stories, which feature Aragorn. So if you will find no review on that one, it has nothing to do with your qualities as an author. Your writing is brilliant, griping, and - in this story here - touching as well.

Take care

Glad to see the "TBC"!

He put feathers in your hair! (snork!)

“Estel,” Bilbo said gravely, “your skills as a healer are required.” (this was a nice, gentle chuckle)

Sam and the star glass! Shades of foreshadowing!

A lovely conversation between Frodo and Aragorn. They do have the early loss of a parent in common and so the conversation between them seemed very natural. I also enjoyed the bits of star falling to earth and how surprised Sam was to learn that he would be allowed to have a piece. I love this story.

Feathers!?! LOL! That is too great! Just like when my friend's 1 yr old comes to hug my legs and leaves interesting smudges in place! But of course she has the most innocent and sweetest smile on her face while she is doing it!

I did enjoy the time Frodo and Aragorn spent together, thank you.

A wonderful chapter!! The conversation between Frodo and Aragorn was beautifully written! And the feather in his hair... cheeky Pip :)

That last line is an absolute hoot!! Just the sort of thing a toddler would do. Although how he managed to stop himself giggling with glee I will never know.

What a horrible ache it must be, to have lost ones parent/parents at a young age. Especially when those parents were good and caring ones. It always makes me think of Billy Boyd (alright . . . *a lot* of things make me think of Billy) Still sweet, still fun!! Of course Pip put feathers in Aragorn's hair!!

Oh, this is great! I didn't know that meteors can turn sand into glass - that's so interesting. And what a lovely souveneir for them to have from this camping trip. (P.S. I don't think Pippin could ever be too cute! I love the way you're writing him).

Oh, Shirebound! I was so excited to wake up this morning and find this waiting on my friends list! What a perfect thing to start off a lovely, quiet, rainy Saturday morning! Now I can daydream about tween Frodo and Aragorn and toddler Pip and the ever cuddly Bilbo and Sam all day as I go about the drudgery of housework. See how you've brightened my whole day? :)

I am absolutely fascinated by the concept of meteors turning sand into glass. It just amazes me that can (and does) happen. I'd love to find a piece. I know some enterprising near-beach dwelling person must cash in on the phenominon...perhaps I could find a piece to buy. *adds to Christmas list...right after new digital camera just like the one they gave me at work! :p*

Your toddler Pip is really stealing my heart - the little scamp! Poor wittle baby boo-boos...needed kissing by Aragorn! So sweet!

Yummy bonding between Aragorn and Frodo! I just love these two together pre-quest. It's too bad it couldn't have really happened that way. Or, actually...who says it COULDN'T have?!? You've certainly made ME believe it!

Just a great chapter all around. Can't wait for more!

Blessings!
