Estel's Birthday  by shirebound 142 Review(s)

Apparently I'm terrible at reviewing! I thought I'd left a review after the last chapter, but when I double checked, I found it's been since chapter five that I've left you a note. Bad auntiemeesh!

I have so loved this fluffy story! There cannot be too many fluffy hobbit stories. :) Estel is so gentle and loving with the younglings, especially toddler Pippin (a most delightful creature, I must tell you). I will warn you, now I want far more toddler Pippin. Just saying.

Author Reply: Thank you! I'm rather fond of hobbityfluff myself! I just couldn't resist bringing toddler Pippin and Scamp together somehow.

*hugs Auntiemeesh*

A wonderful ending to a most wonderful story!!! I shall re-read this when I'm in need of cheering up :-) Thank you, Thank you! And I eagerly await your next story. :-)

Author Reply: Thank you, Pearl! This story cheered *me* up, as well. Hobbits and puppies and chicks, oh my!

:)

Author Reply: Pearl, can you let me know if you e-mailed me today? I received an e-mail with no subject line that may be from you, but I don't open e-mails unless I know for sure who sent them, and that they're not spam. Thanks!

A sweet ending to a sweet tale.

"Did you ride the pony too?" LOL
I like your Paladin! And that he's familiar with Rangers... hmmm... Is there a story there?

Thanks!

Author Reply: Thank you for reading! Yes, I think nothing much would escape Paladin's attention, especially where his son is concerned.

Awwww! What a sweet finale!

------ “Pippin only wanted stories with birds in them,” he whispered. “I suspect that he’ll be requesting a pet duck when he returns home.”

“I’ll warn his parents,” Bilbo grinned. “His father is rather allergic to feathers.” He carefully knelt and slid the snack tray into the tent. “Thank you,” came several muffled voices.-----

I can just see that interchange happening!

Author Reply: Thanks, Ella! I think I left no fluff unturned for this story, and I'm so glad that folks enjoyed it.

I loved Frodo's idea for a tent inside - that brought back lots of memories! This was the perfect conclusion to a wonderful story :)

Author Reply: Thank you! The "tent" brought back memories for me, as well! My mom used to make us tents in the livingroom, and our dog loved running in and out of them. too.

Sam is correct,” Aragorn said gravely. “You can never take a chance with fire, Frodo, even if you believe it to be nothing but cold ash. If you have water, drown it. If you have sand or soil, bury it.”

I have to chuckle. Spoken like a true SD fire survivor. Get the word out, Smoky.

Loved the story . . . . and I can't wait for your next fantastic chapter . . . .please remember those of us who love drama and action, danger and heroism; we're still out here, keeping the faith, waiting for another good story . . . not that I would try to drop a hint or anything.

Be safe out there in southern California,

Esamen

Author Reply: You've been so patient! I plan to at last start writing the "drama and action, danger and heroism" story (the Barrow-wights) in January -- there are a few other things I need to write first. But it will come, never fear!

I'm happy you enjoyed the fluffage in the meantime! (And yes, I *did* find myself putting some "fire prevention" tips in this chapter! The fires were a year ago this week, actually.)

Ohhhhhh!!!!! What a lovely, perfect ending! I can't tell you how much I've enjoyed this wonderful bit of fluff. Finding it in the morning after you've posted chapters and reading while having my first cup of coffee has been such a sweet confection, leaving me with warm fuzzies all day long. Thank you for this sweet, sweet story!

Author Reply: Thank *you*! I really enjoyed writing this -- it's such a pleasure to give our characters a happy outing once in a while!

Oh, Okay! *grudgingly nudges Frodo to move over just a little bit* C'mon Pip! Here's a little spot in my heart just for you.
This story was adorable from beginning to end. Wonder if Estel is going to make it a habit to stop by near his birthday...... (?)

Author Reply: Awww. Toddler Pip scampered his way into your heart.

Thank you! Yes, I think, if Estel wants memorable/heartwarming birthdays, he should accidentally find himself in the Shire every year around March 1.

I'm glad the story is still going to be continued!
I think this one is the only chapter I reviewed( because I'm the laziest person imaginable when it comes to reviewing*g*), but I've read and liked them all.

That conversation Frodo has with Aragorn shows just how close Frodo has come to him, to be able to speak to him about such things. Great job!
