| Cute and sweet! It's good to see those deep connections that we see in the book were so instant and steadfast from the very beginning. Author Reply: Well, you've read enough of my stories to know that my take on Frodo is that his little Merry was all that kept him out of suicidal depression over the death of his parents. And Pippin is just pure love and trust, drawing out all Merry's protectiveness. | |

| Aww, how sweet. I do so love these pre-Quest bonding moments between cousins. I like this idea that Pippin made Merry love him from the moment of birth, and that Merry did the same to Frodo :) Author Reply: I have always been fascinated by the idea that three cousins, so far apart in age, could be so very close to one another. It seems to me to be one of those things that Gandalf called "meant". Providence, Fate or the will of Eru, call it what you will. | |

| My first reaction was "Awwwwww, how sweet!" Drabbles are amazing, aren't they? You can say so much with just 100 words. Author Reply: It *is* amazing! I had shied away from them, thinking I would never be able to keep something that short and still have it sound right. Imagine my surprise when my first shot at this came in short by 8 words, and I actually had to add to it! I definitely am going to try this again sometime! | |
