Light Out of Darkness  by shirebound 17 Review(s)

Once again, shirebound, you have written a lovely chapter!

And once again you have given me something to think about - I never thought on it but it makes sense that they Witch-King's ring of power survived him, though we know it would have lost its power after the destruction of the One Ring. I find it fascinating that Frodo thought to look for it and I am glad Aragorn used Anduril to destroy it (at least its jewel)...

Once again, lovely chapter!

Amazing chapter! I loved it how Aragorn and Frodo worked together to destroy that ring.

Very nice indeed! You paint pictures with your words.

What an interesting idea, that the Black Captain's ring remained, and that Anduril, Aragorn and Frodo working together would destroy it.

A question: that statement about who the kings originally were (3 Numenoreans, and 6 M-e), does that come from an appendix somewhere or is that your own?

“Frodo, what are you---” Aragorn’s words died in his throat as a blackened, twisted chunk of metal fell from the inside of the glove. A ring. One of the Nine.

Shirebound, you have absolutely outdone yourself this time. This one caught me completely by surprise. I had no idea that you were going there! One of the Nine!

This is great stuff! You are really covering new ground! Thanks for all your hard work . . . I just love reading this story.

Ah! This was perfect!

"Frodo’s smile faded as he suddenly remembered with whom he stood. This blazing sword out of legend rested in the hand of... his king.

“Frodo...” Aragorn rested a gentle hand on the hobbit’s shoulder. “What is it?”

Frodo bit his lip. “You must think hobbits to be without respect or manners. I should be on my knees before you.” He cast his eyes down. “The king has returned,” he whispered in awe.

“Frodo,” Aragorn said softly. “I am Strider of the North, still -- and always will be.” He smiled. “I have asked you to bow to no one. Must I make it an order?” "

I just loved this part! Frodo, despite all he has endured, all he has done - is still humble. Aragorn, still Strider.

Another great chapter! Can't wait for more. :)

You are so very talented. You do have a way with words, and can pick up on the most underlying of stories, still waiting to be told in Tolkien style. Please keep them coming.

An interesting encounter with the remains of the Witch-king. And an unusual but inventive idea to have Frodo find the With-king's ring of power and destroy it with Aragorn's help. A very fitting chapter for the title of the series as it was quite dark in places, but the light prevailed in the end.
