Interlude In Imladris  by Jay of Lasgalen 51 Review(s)
Reviewed Chapter: 9 on 6/6/2004
Oh now that's just cruel! Very well done. I really never saw this coming.

Author Reply: Poor Thranduil. I feel very sorry for him now. I'm glad you didn't see it coming, but Legolas's original message to Nifael was very carefully worded so that it *could* be misunderstood.

Ai! A heartrending chapter, Jay! I hope you won't leave Thranduil thus for long.

Author Reply: Poor Thranduil. He won't suffer for too long - but the angst will go up before the end!

That Nifael, bless his little cotton socks, is a menace!
Is he ever going to be embarrassed when he wakes up to the devastation his words have innocently caused. Both sad and hilarious, well done Jay.
Rose

Author Reply: Poor Nifael - none of this was his fault! He simply delivered a message; it wasn't his fault it was misinterpreted.

Well, angst you promised and angst there is. Poor Thranuil! How truly awful. I can't remember though, Jay. Is Darian a characters from an earlier story, the one about Elrohir etc caring for the sick?

Author Reply: Angst there is indeed, and more before the end! Poor Thranduil. Darian is a new OC, the other story about Elrohir and the plague was set a few hundred years ago (and nearer to Imladris than Lasgalen).

!! I had forgotten about Nifael:-) Good thing I am re-reading it;-)

Author Reply: You may spot a few changes I've made if you read the original version. There will be an additional scene in the final chapter that a lot of readers requested.

Hope we never meet a cave troll indeed! Ha.
Poor little messenger, he may of been annoying but he never deserved this - must of been the red shirt he was wearing
How exciting, more - soon
Rose

Author Reply: I think the cave troll comment is a case of famous last words. Poor Nifael - you'll have to wait to see what happens when Legolas's message doesn't arrive.

well, that was unexpected! I hope you are not going to kill him off. *sniff* An excellent chapter!

Author Reply: Poor Nifael. And as he's wandered off the path, there's not much chance that Legolas will find him.

Well that last part certainly changed the tone. Until then,I was enjoying the success of the hunt and the joking among the friends. I assume that's Legolas's letter to Thranduil. Will Legolas catch up with him?

Author Reply: You know me - angst is never far away. There will be repercussions from the missing letter later on. Legolas is several days behind Nifael, and Nifael isn't even on the right track!

Ah yes, the trials and tribulations of royalty! *snicker* It must be truly vexing to be "my Lorded" at every turn...poor Nifael - he'll be traumatized for life at the rate he's going! I enjoyed the communication from Thranduil...and Legolas' response to the news that the crossing had been repaired ;). Now, I hope Arwen's reflexes are quick, and that the men-folk (what would you call them? - elf-guys?) in her life don't faint dead away when they realize that the "rock" has awakened! *long-suffering sigh* Another cliffie -
P-L-E-A-S-E update soon!!!!!

Author Reply: Poor Legolas - he hates the 'my Lording'. And poor Nifael - he *will* be traumatised by the time I've finished with him! Arwen is no wilting violet, but I intend to give the males a few nasty moments! Stay tuned for more cliffies.

' "You were lucky. I came to see what you were up to. You need looking after." ' Hmmmmm...your pardon, Ernil Legolas, but isn't that something like the pot calling the kettle black? It seems to me that all the "young ones" need a keeper. No wonder Elrond doesn't trust them to stay out of trouble! *vbg* Poor Legolas is going to have a very major phobia with caves by the time the War of the Ring starts...more ammunition for Gimli, tho'! This chapter was very good...a nice mixture of fear and falling ceilings and supposedly dead trolls and heroic (and panicked) Legolas moments and kidnapped Asfolaths and Ellahir and Elrodan (I love those mis-names :) )and Arwen actually in trouble with her Adar. Very entertaining...and Legolas actually stayed pretty much in one piece! *happy dance ;)*

linda

Author Reply: Poor Legolas and his cave phobia - but he was very brave in this chapter, even thought he was so scared. It makes him more heroic. And he wasn't even harmed!

Arwen and Asfaloth - that was a pure movie-moment, I'm afraid. I couldn't resist it, but didn't think her father would be too pleased.
