Ithilden and Alfrin are so cute....:-) I am very happy to read that the two Thranduillions are now safe and are out of harms way.. Poor Legolas... The guilt and terror... Him being scared about ending up like Nana was heartbreaking.... and the whole nightmares... It really showed how much Ithilden loves Legolas no matter how much Legolas is a pest... lol.. I could take some serious lessons;-) Great chapter~

Author Reply: Alfirin must really love him if she'll hold his head while he vomits and then kiss him (on the forehead, of course--no one would go for the mouth). I think that for a kid who has always talked about his nana being eaten by an orc, the idea that creatures of shadow might eat him would be the worst think he could imagine.

Another review that will be stuck in queue for a bit :/

Ada!Thranduil comes through nicely in this chapter. He is as calm, cool and collected as he can be, despite not knowing what has happened. I can only imagine what he must be thinking after finding one son covered in spider blood and webbing, and then the other son poisoned by spider venom from bites. Illness, nightmares and children on the edge - but Adar stays calm through it.

I like Alfirin being with Ithilden, too. He'll be thinking if she still is interested in him after holding him while he vomits, she is the elleth for him!

Author Reply: Thranduil is just great! He's dealing with his baby now, and I expect he'll have some comfort for his strong oldest son too. But right now, the oldest son is drawing comfort from the maiden, even if he does want to die for having been so sick in front of her.

Thanks for all your help with this story.

There was such a mix of emotions in this chapter. I really didn't know whether I should have been laughing or crying while reading it - probably both. Poor Legolas! So traumatized by all that's happened and poor Thranduil, caught between worries for his two sons and trying so hard to be tend to both of them at once. Then there's Ithilden, trying to deal with the sickness from the spider venom and nightmares, worrying about his little brother, and the ecstasy/agony of having Alfirin tending to him. Must be major blow to his commander/warrior ego to have so little control over everything. I think the entire family is ready for the trauma unit.

A really wonderful chapter!

Author Reply: In my opinion, nothing better could have happened to Ithilden than to have a blow to his commander/warrior ego. He needs to know that other people are there to take care of him too. Showing vulnerability to Alfirin can only help his cause.

But I do expect he feels bad about not taking better care of Legolas. And Legolas is still terrified by his encounter with the spiders and worried about the damage he's caused his brother. Thranduil is so good!

*snort* Poor Ithilden, how humiliating! I had a feeling that he would meet Alfirin again in the infirmary, and that he would probably be in some embarrassing condition. It really must be love if they can face each other after this.

Thranduil was wonderful, as always, so torn between the need to be with both sons. Where is Eilian during all this? And poor would-be-grown-up Legolas, so scared and so guilty.

A great chapter, Daw.

Author Reply: If she can kiss him after she's seen him throwing up, she must feel something for him! It's probably good that she's seeing a vulnerable side to him that most people never see.

It must be tough on Thranduil to have two sons needinghim at once. Eilian is in the south, where he is blissfully ignorant of everything that's been happening.

Oops! I accidently sent in a blank review...Sorry about that. But anyways, this chapter was very touching. I loved how you put Alfirin in here to help take care of him. And poor Legolas, he's so gosh darn guilty! And poor both Thranduilions, they're both having nightmares! But I just love Thranduil in this, he's such a great father. He stays with them both, and comforts them both. That is what any good father should do. Loved this chapter, update asap~

Author Reply: Glad you liked it, Nessie. I am hoping that Ithilden will find some compensation in having Alfirin around. She is seeing a vulnerable side to him that most people never see. Maybe that will help their romance along.

And yeah, Legolas feels guilty and still terrified at the idea that he was caught in a web with spider intending to eat him. I can't even imagine what that would be like. Thank goodness for Ada.
