I'm really enjoying this, and I like the unexpected turn at the end! Poor Pip, nothing's ever simple for him! I'm looking forward to seeing how he's going to sort his feelings out. I feel a bit sorry for Diamond being left behind though - I wonder if her feelings will also become clearer while he's away!

Author Reply: I'm glad you're enjoying the story, and thanks for reviewing! Nothing is ever simple for Pippin, I think, because us Pippin-lovers enjoy making things difficult for him! I'll be the first to confess I enjoy it :P

Hmm, that's an interesting thought about Diamond there. To be honest, I hadn't thought much about what to do with her :P

Interesting custom. I didn't know about the flowers thing. You have educated me while entertaining me. I hope his trip helps Pippin decide what he wants to do. I also think it's better if he isn't at the wedding in his present state of mind.

Author Reply: I didn't know about it either, but when I read it, I had to change something in another story. I think it's a sweet tradition.

No, probably not the best of ideas for the Knight of Gondor to attend the wedding. I just have visions of him pulling his sword on Sancho. That was one of the reasons I decided against having him attend.

I'm glad this chapter worked well. It was never one of my intended directions, but one day I just thought of it!

nnnnnnnnnnnnooooooooooooooooooooo!
He can't do that! He's not allowed to! He has to get togethr with diamond!
As you can see, am loving the story, and can't wait for more!!!
Please update soon! Love Rosy

Author Reply: He will be with Diamond eventually, I just have to decide how and when! Pippin just needs some time with his single lad friends - perhaps a certain dwarf anf elf (shhh, I didn't just say that) :P

I'm glad you're enjoying the story. I'll try to get the next update up soon, but I'm trying to write the next two chapters simultaneously, lol

Poor Pippin, hes pretty confused. Is he angry at Celandine marrying someone else or that he is starting to have feelings for Diamond and is unsure of them after Celandine. Either way, its probably best he not be at that wedding.

Author Reply: I think it's a bit of both, but in my personal opinion, he doesn't have much of a right to be angry at Celandine for marrying someone else. (Though, of course, that may just be because I'm in a bit of a I-hate-guys mood at the moment). I'm still trying to work out how he's going to realise his feelings for Diamond, not to mention how she's going to realise hers!

Thanks for reviewing :)

I am glad that Diamond was able to confide in her firends. Now she might relax a bit more. This is a very good story. I am looking forward to more of it. Sounds as if Pervinca has plans for Pippin and Diamond.

Author Reply: Thank you, GW. I'm glad you're enjoying the story! I certainly *do* have plans for Pippin and Diamond, but I haven't decided whether Pervinca in the story will have some role to play. I suppose I should give her the chance to play matchmaker - she's always missed out in my other stories :P

I'm glad that Diamond told everyone about her experience! Now they will understad a little better things like why she doesn't want to go to Bag End! I love it when the house is crowded! It sounds like Crickhollow was just bursting at the seams! Very nice, looking forward to more!

Author Reply: It's good to hear you enjoyed Diamond's story. I was a little hesitant about how to write this chapter, especially considering I'm writing the full version of Diamond's tale at the same time. While I didn't want to repeat myself, I didn't want to make people read the other story if they didn't want to!

Should have the next chapter up very soon :)

I love it! That is, indeed, a beautiful name. I enjoyed the interplay between Pippin and Merry in this chapter. It is a rare writer who can have them jesting at one another before it turns into a farce, and you have balanced it perfectly.

Author Reply: Thank you so much! :) I could never imagine that Merry and Pippin would not have any fights at all, but I assume little arguements and teasing like this would occur all the time.

I'm glad you liked Meriwyn's name. I've seen plenty of stories where Faramir and Eowyn have named a son after Meriadoc, but no daughters. :P

Pervinca seems a more subtle matchmaker than MY relatives. She has pretty good instincts towards couples. The conversation between Merry and Pippin concerning their namesakes was adorable. Looking forward to the next chapter.

Author Reply: Since I enjoy matchmaking, it seems logical to make Pervinca in my stories enjoy it! I've always managed to be fairly subtle too :P

I'm glad you enjoyed the little Merry and Pippin moment! I've been trying to remember to include moments such as this - after all, Merry and Pippin are so very close.

Thanks for reviewing :)

Pervinca,

For a 'filler chapter', as you call it, this was really quite entertaining. Sam and Rose seem to be quite the married couple...I still chuckle at Sam's talk about 'the right timing'.

It'll be interesting to see how Diamond faces her fears at Bag End. I look forward to seeing how this story progresses. Good work!

Author Reply: Thanks Roger :) I'm a firm believer that if a chapter has to be a filler, then it should at least be a little entertaining, even if it's just a humorous little piece. To be honest, I wasn't completely sure about Sam's "the right timing" comment, but I figured it was subtle enough for him. Sam never struck me as someone to be particularly blantant about such things :P
