Ha,ha! Merry is sooo funny! And I think Adelard is hilarious as well! This was a very funny chapter!

Author Reply: That's my Merry...! I can't stay too serious for too long. Life is pretty much like that, too... Thank you! :-)

This has really nothing to do with the chapter, but you write so well! Every word is important, every phrase and sentence is detailed so vividly! I love reading your writing! You have talent of writing stories!=)

Author Reply: Goodness! No matter who or how often someone tells me that, it still amazes me and humbles me-and it always will. I am honestly, quite pleasantly surprised by your compliments and encouragement! Thank you! :-)

Isengar sounds a lot like Bilbo! I loved it when Merry asked,"What did he give you? A lump of coal?" LOL That was great! I'm going straight to the other chapter!

Author Reply: LOL...my cheeky Merry! I love him just as much as I love my just-as-cheeky Pippin!

As you read further, Paladin and Adelard will begin to behave and sound a bit like another pair of lovable and famous hobbits! Pippin and Merry...

So far it's a great story! I love the part when Pippin hides behind Paladin! I could picture that so clearly!

Author Reply: Why thank you, Hobbits Soul! Well, as the poor lad is the youngest and smallest of all the children, he required a bit of an iron shield for protection from them...thinking he'd find it in his father! He did...to an extent. ;-)

Wow...this is great! Another avid reader! This story was borne out of the need to explain and fulfill various aspects of some of my other stories...pathetic, isn't it? I get my plot bunnies from my own stories! :-P

Thanks for all of your kind responses--and I plan to reply to each one! :-)

I thought that little scene at the beginning of this chapter might have been for me ^-^ Thank you, I loved it. Even just a little hint into the Paladin/Eglantine romance is good enough for me (for now anyway ;P). Lovely ending to a lovely story, especially cousin Merry's reply, hehehehe. Six children? Is that something I've missed from another story, or you just hinting at something?

Well, now that you've finished that one, you can work harder on the other couple you told me that you had! :P

Author Reply: Darn--can't get anything past you, either! lol... Yes, it *is* for you! :-) The six children was my hint, not a story *yet*; I figure with 6 yrs between Pimpernel and Pervinca and 5 yrs between Pervinca and Pippin, there has to be a couple sad moments in their lives. Yes...perhaps a third plot bunny... Oy, mamma mia. I'm just now constructing the outline for Pervinca's story... I may ask *you* for advice along the way... I thank you, dear friend, for reading the story, and for your kind reviews!

This was such a lovely story! And I'm so *glad* it didn't end the way I thought it would, with Isengar dying. I love the idea of Bilbo's relationship with the generation in between himself and Frodo, too. Thanks for a great read!

Author Reply: Well, as for Isengar, that may be another plot bunny on down the road, but not now. As for Bilbo--I'm glad you picked up on the Mid-generational thing. It's one of the main reasons why I wanted to include him in the story; sort of Isengar handing down the proverbial adventure-baton down to Bilbo, and then Bilbo to Frodo and the others. Thank *you* for reading and taking the time to review! Take care.

The meeting of fathers and sons was perfect! And I love Paladin being so pleased with himself for figuring out a way to entertain the children. This is such a delightfull story.

Author Reply: Thank you, Pearl! Your encouragement has always meant a lot to me. Your stories are a must-read for anyone who likes Tooks! :-) Take care.
